Full Bluetooth Capability

I found it to be quite ironic that Apple has become the defacto standard for portable digital audio, video and e-book devices and yet has failed to effectively implement the now mature bluetooth wireless inter-device communication protocol. I have researched this extensively after purchasing a very expensive vehicle with a bluetooth audio communcation system and and iPhone 3GS. Again, it is quite ironic that the phone controls, contact list and other phone related features operate flawlessly, however the most prolific feature that has restored Apple to notoriety, it's compact audio player device, has very limited capability. My response to this deafening shortcoming was to send a 2 page dissertation to Apple by going to www.apple.com/feedback under the advice of a senior Apple technical support representative. Short of jailbreaking your phone and taking the risk of creating security breaches, corrupting software and possibly jeopordizing your warranty; I vehemently suggest that you post your requests to Apples feedback forum. The Apple support rep explained that every Apple engineer and developer is obligated to read and discuss every request posted on their feedback forum. On the other hand, those same engineers and developers DO NOT frequent user forums such as this. Do the math --- spend the time and energy commiserating on this forum and exchanging information that will not likely effect change or communicate your specific requests directly to the source.

Just trying to help.

I appreciate your passion and share your feelings 100%. I began sending this exact same feedback via the link below on a regular basis about 18 months ago. So far, no joy. It's a real shame as full implementation of AVRCP would really be a help to me and make the iPhone so much more usable.

I have sent several feedback messages. I come here to share my frustration with others. We are all in this together.

If you have a jailbroken iphone with cydia then you can download music control 1.2, it gives you FULL AVRCP support! Works perfect with pandora, regular ipod, xbmc streamer, and just about every music app. It also allows music apps like pandora to run in the backround. I finally get to use my track select buttons! It does have a 5 day free trial then asks you to purchase it for $4.99. Ive been using it for 3 days now along with my rocketfish MAB2 stereo bluetooth without any problems. :D

I have the MAB2 also. Great going to test now.

Side question does the MAB2 work with Voice control?

Any chance that there's the possibility to use the controls part without the BT audio transmission part? I just want a remote, but not to deplete the batteries (of both the iPhone and the headset) so much by constant streaming, while keeping the audio jack output...

No, it requires your device to be jailbroken.
Sometimes, changing settings on a JB device carries over on an iTunes backup - try JB, install, backup, reinstall 'normal' iOS. Worked for me for the emoji, network names, and some other stuff.
Of course; the BT stack is a pretty major part, rather than a setting, so not terribly likely.

Is anyone running this App on an iPod Touch.....I have a 3rd Gen and a Nokia BH-503 Bluetooth Headset, the audio is great but would like to use the mic for Voice Control,Skype etc......
WTF Apple didn't include this in 4.0 .......

Email the developer, he is really good about answering emails.
I have emailed him a couple of times and he has always got back to me quickly.

For anyone that cares, voice control works great with Ricketfish Mobile MAB2.
AVCRP works great.
They are comfortable even for jogging. Finally got my old self out to exercise.

Seems that music controls replaces the iPhones bluetooth stack, I'm now 3 days past my trial end an my track select buttons STILL WORK!
Lost all other features of the program but don't care since I didn't use any of them anyways.

Does it still show the album picture? I noticed you could disable that and i want to keep it. also, is it still working now?

I like how it displays in the title bar :), you can display title/and or artist. Just reinstalled the 5 day trial so I can use with my bluetooth headset(Rocketfish) with my 3g. Sucks that you have to pay for this but this is a feature that I've been wanting and I'm willing to pay for. Gotta support all the people out there that does the work that Apple doesn't :p.

AVRCP should already be there :(.
