Who exactly doesn't understand terms like "bonding agents" and/or "adhesives" ? I wouldn't expect to find that demographic well represented at a tech product site like this one.

Those for whom English is not a first language, or perhaps even second or third?

And as much as this site is all about tech products, that does not mean the users of those products are - or even need to be - technically savvy. One might even say that a significant part of Apple's DNA is in making highly complex products so easy to use that no special skills or knowledge is needed.

We use "glue" (ahem, bonding agents, adhesives, etc) to hold airplanes together these days, in all sorts of harsh conditions from subfreezing to desert heat on a hot tarmac. Just as "plastic" can be a highly technical and appropriate material for many applications (including... airplanes!)... just because it's "glue" or "plastic" doesn't mean it's cheap/under-engineered. We've come a long way from hide glue and Bakelite. ;-)

Pursue your replacement/repaired watch. Apple should make this right.

Interesting. I never considered precision in language to be pretentious. Nor do I feel the need to dumb down communications or expressions, I think that's an arrogant posture. In fairness my own use of the term "misrepresentation" in my original post is a bit harsh.. "imprecise" would be more appropriate.

The definition of "glue" is:
1. an adhesive substance used for sticking objects or materials together.

It seems quite a precise use of the term in this case.

Got some news from my broken AW:
After sending it to Apple, I've got confirmed I'll receive a replacement. Receiving the box to send my AW to Apple took very long, almost 2 weeks. I'm sure there went something wrong. The replacement after sending the AW to Apple was really fast (AW was picked up on monday and on thursday I received the replaced AW).
So here I go, starting chapter two with the AW, hoping this time it will last longer then my first one has...

PS: I've read some other threads in the meantime where some other persons had the same issue with the AW as I had. I'm not sure if I'm happy not beeing the onlyone or if I should getting worried because it seems to be a more serious problem then ever expected

There are only five members so far with this issue. If it were a widespread problem, we'd be getting significantly more posts as we saw with the iPhone 4 during Antennagate and the Black and Slate iPhone 5 arriving full of nicks and scrapes from factory.

Your replacement should be fine so don't worry about it.
