so £100 more. Thank you Apple but that is a no go for me. £400 for sport version 42mm is just crazy expensive.

Looks like one mic that pushes out water. Cool.

I think it's the speaker that pushes out the water. I still don't really know how that works though. They made it seem like the sound itself produces enough force to drain out the water. Sounds pretty bizarre. Must be a really well sealed off speaker.

Probably means it sounds like crap too - as Samsung's did when they went completely waterproof with the S7 (The S6 had much clearer speakers).

I've got a Sonicare toothbrush that can shake its bristles almost completely dry after rinsing with water. Maybe this speaker works the same way.

(Edit) It's been an Apple patent for a while now, too.

I have the same toothbrush, and that is a dangerous maneuver you're doing there. I also do that by accident every few weeks and immediately upon making the mistake I am reminded by water droplets covering 90% of my mirror, as well as my entire face.

To respond to the topic at hand, I don't think the speaker can pump out anywhere near that kind of power, but maybe with sound it would drain? I don't think they would have like a drain sequence though where it pumps out deep sound for a couple seconds to drain - seems extremely awkward.

I am not all that impressed. I think AW2 is a big deal for those without an AW, while it isn't that big of a deal to those with AW1. Don't get me wrong, waterproofing is cool, gps is cool, but it would have been a lot cooler with cellular, so one can really leave their phone at home. It seems like the features are mainly set for athletic people, instead of techie/watch people.

But, hey that is my opinion. I will be waiting until AW3 (if it has cellular), while continuing to use my AW1.

If they put cellular in an AW (aside from the size it would need to be to have any kind of battery life) how many would just ditch their phone? I don't see that happening anytime soon. Technology will have to advance leaps and bounds before they can get close to it.

I do not disagree that it would take better tech, but I do disagree about people ditching their phones. People typically use their phones for data more than they do for calling, and at the AW size, I do not see that replacing it. For me, it would mean I could leave my phone charging while walking out of wifi range still allowing access to my notifications.

I basically use my watch as a notification device, and controller for my iphones music (while commuting on mass transit). Other than that, I grap the phone.

Well if they make a Phone capable watch that small then cue the next sequel in the Zoolander films!
