Apple Watch 3 LTE is a new thing, with new functionality, improving my life by taking the weight of a phone out of my life. I knew I wanted it immediately. I wanted it when Apple Watch 0 came out, and all these years I waited for them to fit in a cellular modem. I figured they'd get around to it eventually, as there had been watchphones on Amazon for $50 for years before AW was even announced.
Same goes for the AirPods. They took cords out of my life.
And Alexa/Echo. It lets me voice control everything.
iPhone X provides me with nothing new. I have no interest. Same goes for HomePod. Nothing new. Zero interest.
