Hello, I'm Brooks from PhoneRumble and dCables, the Creator on the Bendy Kickstarter.

Thanks for all the support. I see we had 16 backers from this forum yesterday.

If any one has any questions I'll be happy to answer.

Hi Brooks,

I like your product a lot, fills a definite need for me as I hate the current Apple cables:
- the white part get dirty
- the end parts of the cable fray and eventually break
- the cables are too long

Happy to see you came out with a solution for all 3, made a pledge and look forward to seeing your success with it :)

Quick question since I'm new to kickstarter : Now that I've made a pledge... how do I select a certain color?

Count me in, I've always wanted a super short cable for travelling

Me too, can stand having a 3-and-a-half foot lightning cable sprawling all over my desk when I am working on my MacBook Air and want to charge my iPhone

Yeah I backed at the $8 pledge and am new to Kickstarter, do you send us an email asking for color when they are ready or do we contact you somehow?

Also, you mentioned it was another $10 per cable?

And to the person posting that braided cable, what is the advantage of a reversible usb cable?

@Jason Lee : Thanks for the suggestion and we agree with you.
If backers want multiple at any of the Early Bird levels then they can add $10- for each additional cable.

So if you pledge at Nutty Early Bird and want 3 cables, make your pledge $8 (NEB) + (2*$10) = $28 TOTAL.

Sorry, for any confusion. This is our first Kickstarter rodeo and we want to be fair to backers, reward early backers, and still not lose our shirt. These early bird levels are crazy low prices on Apple certified cables, especially with Free shipping in US.

From the kickstarter creator ^ if you look on the comments section he explains it.

And to the person posting that braided cable, what is the advantage of a reversible usb cable?

Same reason it's nice being able to plug in the lightning cable either way. Simply a convenience thing so you don't have to fiddle around figuring out which way to plug it in.

Hal~9000: Thanks for the support! The way Kickstarter works is we have to send a survey at the end if/when the project is funded and ask about the colors.

@bhags8: if you wanted an extra cable and got in at ANY Early Bird Level you would add $10 for every additional cable.

The really low early bird prices are meant to encourage individual backers and reward them for backing early but we can't sell 1000's of cables at $5 and free shipping obviously.

Thanks for the quick reply Brooks, glad to see you are nearly halfway to your funding goal in just a few days! Looking forward to seeing your success :)

I backed it for four cables!

I REALLY hope the Lightning connector fits ok inside Apple iPad cases etc.....or I've just wasted $45 !

dealmaker: We haven't tested with any iPad cases but it does fit into a Lifeproof case on an iPhone5. Those are pretty small.

The dimensions of the housing are 10.1mm wide and 5.8mm tall.

Thanks for posting. Just backed it.

Thanks Migs Vuitton! We're a hair under 50%, so looking good. We do need help with any shares from our backers. It would be greatly appreciated.

Seriously.

I dont use power banks (if I needed to on a daily basis I's likely be looking for a different phone) so this isn't useful for me.

Wish they offered a full size version. I'm so tired of my apple cables deteriorating

Agreed. I don't really see any scenarios that this tiny cable would be useful in.

Not sure if I will use it or not but I backed it @ $14 level.

Have to back a local guy as said above.

Good luck!

How many people here would be more interested if there was a 12 inch/ 30cm version of this bendy cable available?

I will be more interested!
That's the perfect length for a cable for use with a battery pack. Good length for some wiggle room but not too short where you cannot move the device.

Looks cool but too short for me -

If I plug it in to my laptop - the phone will move as I move my laptop around, might even risk dropping the phone.

If I plug it in to my car - my phone is usually in a cup holder or a phone holder, the cable to not long enough to reach

Looks like this isn't certified by Apple yet, according to the video it's still PENDING.

Maybe if you make another version of it that's a little longer.

My OEM 30 pin cables from 5 years ago haven't broken on me yet and I don't expect the lightning cables to either.

They got certification already.

@MushroomJesus : we understand the short length doesn't work for some people. There seems to be a lot of people who do want and need a shorter one.

We're still working on the possibility of an 12-18 inch version.

As zmanbaseball said, we updated the project several days after launch when we received word from the Apple testing lab that the cable had passed the MFI tests.

Hi Orangebl00d, I was just curious: Is it possible at all to get black trim on the lightning cables? Perhaps even as a stretch goal?

I see in your kickstarter video at the 1:50 mark there is a green lightning cable (and the white one in the car after it) that it has a black trim that I would like more than the white trim.

Hi Hal~9000 : We made the decision to make the Lightning cables with the white trim and the Micro USB with the black trim. Because Apple type products are usually more around the color white. You may see some old Lightning samples in the video and images that do have the black trim, but going forward we gotta stick with white for Lightning. We're still looking into the feasibility of making that trim glow in the dark as well.
