Order placed: June 6 at 4:30pm EDT.
12.9 iPad Pro, Space Grey, 512 GB, Wifi only

Status as of June 11 at 12:50pm: Credit Card not charged yet. Spoke to store and they have not received their shipment from Apple yet. They are expecting a shipment later today or tomorrow.

Will update thread when I see any kind of movement...

I cancelled my order with Adorama for this reason. I preordered from them within the first hour of release and got an email the next day stating the item was on backorder with no shipping estimate to be given at the time. I would rather pay 50$ to get it from apple directly with my government discount and get it on release day.

I can totally understand why you would do that. As for me and my needs, since I was ordering the 512 GB model, the savings amounts to $80. If they receive enough tomorrow to fulfill my order, I could receive the iPad Pro this Wed. However, if they don’t receive enough, I could end up waiting for a couple of weeks. In my case though, aside from the excitement, there is no reason I can’t wait. However, I can appreciate why others do not want to wait and they want it now! Plus, even though B&H has really good customer service, no one is as easy to deal with as Apple should you need to make a return or an exchange.
 
That's why I went that route. If im spending almost $800 for the 256gb whats $50. So instead of 729 shipped I paid 788 or so. Not a big deal for me to have to wait a week or more.
 
Order now says coming soon. Previously, the shipping date was noted as 6/13. Now No shipping date. Might have to look elsewhere if I can't even get a shipping date seeing the my cc was charged five days ago.
 
Man screw B&H. Charged my credit card, still says 'preorder' on the page even though it's already released, no hint of a timetable other than 'processing', and their customer service is completely unresponsive. Their Live Chat is conveniently offline. This is all despite them saying "order before Monday at 4pm and get it 6/13".

I've cancelled. I would wait but it is poor customer service to not at least give notice of expected delivery. Their loss.

If they charged your credit card late last night or today, then it will be shipped tonight. When did they charge your credit card?

I just woke up and checked to see if my credit card had been charged yet (it hasn't) and just like you I checked online and noticed that it no longer says delivery expected 6/13. It's quite possible that the online store automatically changes the wording since we are now on that day. Their shipment could be coming in today as forecasted. If so, they will be unpacking the shiny new iPad boxes later today and processing orders. I'd give it another 6-7 hours before we know for sure.

Everything could be on time and since I am just 1-day for order delivery, my iPad could be here tomorrow morning. I too checked stock at my local Apple Store and what I want is in stock for pickup. It's tempting...but what if I could save all this money by waiting one day? (Or even a week for that matter.) But hanging out here in the MacRumors forums on launch day sure does make it tough! :)

My cc was charged 5 days ago. I cancelled, because my cc account had been debited since then, and now, without any idea of shipping.

B&H should not have charged your card until it is ready to ship. I’ve placed well over a hundred orders with B&H over the years and on rare occasion they have screwed up and charged my card on a pre-order and before it arrived. In most cases, I just let it go, but one can call them and they will instantly fix it by reversing the charge. Of course, that should never happen and you shouldn’t have to call in...but just pointing out that this is not the normal practice.

I’m holding off until early afternoon before calling B&H to see if a shipment arrived today. Will definitely post an update once I know something! In the meantime, if anyone sees that their credit card is charged today, please let us know here.

I chatted with B&H today. They said they are expecting the new iPads next week.

Crap. Not the news I wanted to hear. I’m going to ping them in an hour and see if I get the same news...

Be careful with that site, I was going to buy the Airpods from them when they asked me to wait months. I cancelled my order back then, and they refunded.

B&H always advertise items they don't have.

Hogwash. I’ve bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of gear from B&H over the last decade and they are as reliable as they come. They do not falsely advertise or try to intentionally trick you.

In the case of new products coming in, they do their very best to forecast the arrival date, but they are a reseller and are not a direct part of Apple’s supply chain so they do not know with certainty what will be arriving on what date. So they try their best to estimate it for you.

In this case, I can also confirm what Chris said a couple posts above. I just got off the phone with B&H and they said that they were expecting iPads to arrive today, but they did not come in. He spent some time in the inventory system and then spoke with the wholesale ordering department. Bottom line is they are now saying that it looks like Apple’s supply chain will put iPads in their hands sometime next week, but they cannot say for sure. (This is beyond their control and is up to Apple.) They are not advertising a date now since there is so much uncertainty. It could happen in a day or two. Or it could happen next week. We just have to wait and see.

That’s how it goes with resellers. For those that want more certainty, ordering directly from Apple is and always will be your best option. But for those wanting to save some money, resellers like B&H (and others) are a good option if that is the route you want to take.
 
I am kind of bummed that my order is showing "backordered" now on B&H but it's still worth it over all. I just really hope the wait isn't too bad. I ordered 10.5" / 256 / SG. Day after preorders went live.
 
I ordered from Apple the day it was announced (delivered today) and then ordered from Adorama two days later. Adorama was offering the 256GB version for $729 (vs $799) and I wouldn't be paying 10% CA sales tax. So instead of paying approximately $880, I'll pay $730. That $150 savings bought me a Pencil and Smart Cover. Will be returning the one I ordered from Apple directly.

While I hope the Adorama order isn't delayed too long, I'm still using the original Air so another two weeks isn't going to kill me.

thats what i did as well but there is no guarentee that the adorama order would of arrived before the 14 days with apple were up. so i said Eff it.
 
Just spoke with B&H and they said the iPad's are expected to arrive at their warehouse on 6/28 :(

That is too long for me so I just ordered from Apple. About 10 seconds after I ordered B&H charged my credit card so I guess I'll be calling to see what's going on.

Really, ordering direct from Apple isn't any more reliable - several iPads are having their shipping dates pushed back from the expected delivery dates.

My Apple store in Reston, VA had stock of the 10.5 256GB WiFi space Gray.
 
B&H sent me a stock notice email for 10.5" silver 256gb LTE this afternoon. I already ordered at the Sprint store today
