Anyone know what B&H charges for a restocking fee?
I don't know if you've ever seen a MacBook Pro in person, it's not exactly as if we are running out of space along the sides for ports... you live in some sort of fantasy land where the MacBook Pro is 1" wide and only two USB-C ports fits. Honestly the level of intelligence on here is baffling sometimes.Oh, what a great idea. Let's have one of our ports only get used for power so when we don't need to charge our device we don't get to have an extra all-purpose port. Instead we have to take up space that could have been used for a dedicated USB-C port with a single use power port. What a brilliant idea. How did Apple not think of such a limiting and backwards concept? GENIUS!
You could still allow that via a USB-C port, I'm not against USB-C, just pro choice at the current point in time. So we have MagSafe when we are on the move and use the USB-C port when we dock at home. Throw in a couple of USB-A and everything is good. Shame there is no update to the Apple Thunderbolt Display, that new LG though specced well looks horrible and has no place in my work space.Possibly hooking up an external monitor with a single cable and charging at the same time.
Or if you are so desperate to keep the ports down to just 4, Apple design a USB-C charging cable with a MagSafe technology, it wouldn't be hard at all... Why are you so desperate to settle for less Immiddx? Did you never get what you want in life?Oh, what a great idea. TIL Machine Learning and particle physics isn't real work on a computer. LOL, nice.
I sorry I hurt you ego, by not agreeing that your use of a computer is not as intensive as mine and others I know. Have a Happy New Year.

You still seem completely incapable of getting the most basic logic.I'm a ****ing god.

Yeah, brilliant idea. So let's have 3 USB-C ports and 1 MagSafe instead of 4 USB-C ports. Or if we could have 4 USB-C ports and 1 MagSafe, that's obviously better than 5 USB-C ports, right? ****ing genius!
Can you provide some examples where a big corporation does it the other way around? I'm not sure what business sense this would serve.
Business sense? You mean to bring people into the Apple retail store with discounts? Like that example? The high price and low quality of Apple products of late is certainly killing them slowly. They are not going away any time soon, but they make a lot of junk now. Just sayin.

Yes MagSafe is better than a data port as it actually has the ability to save your laptop when someone, like you probably, stumbles over the cable. If Apple builds MagSafe technology into a USB-C charging cable I would be happy with that too. Something they could easily do. But in the current state the MacBook Pro is not suitable for portable on location usage. MagSafe being one of the reasons, lack of ports and bad battery life others. It is completely beyond me why some people defends Apples decision to completely dumb down what for many iterations really was not only a Pro laptop but the best laptop on the market. That's why I've owned every one since 2001. This new mac is a slap in the face to working pros. There is no reason other than an obsession with weight and and thinness to design such a limiting machine. Ideal ports would be for this 2016 model would be.
MagSafe
2 USB-A
3 USB-C
HDMI
Ethernet
Easily achievable if Apple didn't obsess over the wrong things. Drop the silly touchbar add a bigger battery and we have a real pro machine.
The current MacBook is basically an MacBook upgrade, a consumer machine for coffee house posing.
