I think I'm just going to call the nearest Apple store and see what they say about the age-limit for the promo.

Hopefully they can explain it at least.

And Best Buy cards would be nice for my boyfriend, but I'd prefer to have the cash to pay off other things. xD

Great, let me know what they say.

You have to be a college student to get the discount/free iPod. Since you're not eighteen yet, I'll assume that you're still in high school, in which case you can only get the free printer (no education discount/no iPod). You'll need a student ID or acceptance letter; there is no age limit. If you're a 12 year old prodigy going to college, you qualify.

Sorry I meant a $300 Card. :eek:

But of course cash is better than the card. The original question was if she could get the promotion if she bought it at Best Buy. The answer is yes. The rest was me just repeating what he told me. I don't think its the better deal but again, just to answer the original question, yes the promotion still applies at Best Buy. :)

No, the promotion does not apply at Best Buy. Read the terms and conditions.

Best Buy just happens to be running a similar promotion in order to garner sales. It's not the same promotion.

In the U.K College is for people ages 16 and over usually (16-19 years ). In the U.S you're college is our school, and you're University is our college/ Higher Education University.

I am at college now ( University ), and am 17 years old sitting a National Diploma. when I rung Apple up they said I will get Further Education Discount, (11%), but did not quote the free iPod since it has'nt being announced.

This probablly makes more sense, because the U.S and U.K educating is totally different therefore students are eligible for different things.

Uhm, I'm starting college in the fall. =/ My birthday isn't until November but technically I'm a college student. I have an acceptance letter and all that. .____.;

And I attempted to call someone, but all I kept getting were robot recordings. D= But I'm probably going this weekend to the actual store, so hopefully everything works out.

for the restock thing you said earlier, if they were to refund/resell it you shouldnt even need to take in your computer as it will all be on the recipet - that is of course if they were to actually go through with the deal. im getting bored waiting for this thing to happen as well - luckly southampton Sci course starts october :D so i will be able to get in september without starting the uni course - you could speak to one of the people in the store and see if you can bargin with them. probably wont work.

I know I'm starting to wonder if its even gonna happen. I could always get it at the end of the month, then hope the promo starts early in sepember ( before teh 15th), that way I have more chance of getting it sent back and get the iPod.

So what you saying, are you gonna buy it in september, since you don't need in until October. I don't really need it now, but I really want it before november, ( september for college ) as this is when I'm 18, and would need money for a Car insurance etc... I could always wait until September too, we'll just have to take each day as it comes and hope we get more news.

i will end up getting it the day the promo comes out - probably. although im going to go to london to get it since you get a bigger discount in the stores compared to online, apparently. also i may end bargaining with anyone to see if i can get office and vmware which are about £150ish instead of a £200 ipod. doubt it will happen but i never know.

Good luck with that, I hear that they only give the rebate items away only, you can always try though. You could ask for some free iPod socks, hell I'm gonna try and get iWork for free, or at least MS office discounted. ( Apparntley they don't give discount on 3rd party stuff :( )
