Backordered on ATT order check

So I ordered my phone through att's premier store (6:30am..a couple of hours after the presale started) and got the email and order number starting with 101. everythings checked on the order status except for delivery but when i check the normal att site....it says 1 item is back orderded....does this mean i wont be getting it on the 24th?

Back ordered means AT&T doesn't know when it will be in, they just know they have your money and you have to wait, or cancel order...
 
same problem here too...people here say just wait and see, but it's hard to imagine why some people are backordered and some people aren't, anyone?

If I understand all items should show back ordered because they are technically. I ordered my Iphone 4 thru AT&T at the butt crack of dawn yesterday, like 5:40 a.m so I'm pretty sure I'm in the first batch of pre-orders to be delivered on the 24th, this is what I show:

I show the same thing Ferris.......maybe you are right about the all orders being back-ordered. I hope you really are and that it doesn't mean we wont get our phones on the 24th.

They do not all show back ordered, as none of mine do. I would sit tight for another day, but if you still show back ordered, I feel it's safe to say you ARE NOT getting the phone on 6/24.

That's a ridiculous assumption, considering many who show back ordered placed their order hours before those that don't show back ordered. I think it's irrelevant what it shows at this point.

Not to mention I've read posts from people who showed back ordered last year even after receiving their phone.

I'll keep checking and crossing my fingers........but i do think ur statement is a lil far fetched........

Premier here as well and I ordered mines EARLY.

Mine is not showing back ordered on AT&T's site this morning. Just says 1 ordered and "in progress". I ordered a 32GB Black btw.

One quick question, I ordered through AT&T this time instead of Apple.com. Is the phone being shipped to me or will I have to a corp. store to pick it up?
 
Seems like all Premier people who ordered phones are backordered no matter what time we ordered it yesterday...:(
 
I ordered 1 line at 1PM EDT yesterday and the other finally completed at 3:45PM EDT, both on AT&T and I have both emails, yet nothing shows at all in the AT&T order status. Both ordered through Premier.

I'm not going to fret yet as they say it can take 24 hours etc.

Nope. I am a Premier customer, have the same 3 items listed when I look at my order and none of them are backordered, they all show In Progress.

The time on my receipts is 1:50 pm Eastern. I ordered in an ATT store.
 
Premier. Ordered at about 8:15am EST and mine says backordered too. Looks like it might be unique to Premier orders.
 
I was backordered at 6AM EST today, but now I'm not as of 8AM EST today. Did not order thru Premier. Order date shows today (even though I ordered 8AM EST YESTERDAY). CC is charged for the full amount.

Nice assumption that's where you're wrong. The phone is not even in stock yet meaning that it's backordered apparently. This happens with alot of places, for example Eastbay. There were reports last year that customers statuses kept flopping to & from backordered. If you made the cutoff which was about 1:30 PST yesterday then you should be good. I ordered mine @ 6AM CST yesterday.
 
i ordered at 8am Central time yesterday and my credit card was charged the full amount at 10:58 pm. I'm a premier member and it says i have qty order and back ordered. If i dont get my phone by the 24th, or if this doesn't change soon then i expect AT&T to give me a full refund on my card.
 
just spoke to att premier rep, he told me phones are not shipping out till the 24th...

they have stopped all pre-orders for the iphone4 and are processing the ones places yesterday.

meaning you won't receive it until after the 24th?
