no meaning the phones ship out on the 24th... but i imagine i should get it the next day since its free overnight shipping i also ordered at 0530est

Backordered on ATT order check

I ordered mine at the AT&T store and am having them shipped to my house and i did mine late in the afternoon yesterday and when i check the order is says in progress and 0 in back order and i also have a FAN account so i am premier so it may depend on where u ordered from.
Oooohh..like ships from FEDEX to your home..i thought you meant shipped from the warehouse to FEDEX which would imply much after the 24th
I just called and the att premier customer service rep said that Pre-orders will be fulfilled beginning June 24, 2010 and i asked what he meant and he said that means pre-orders will be delivered June 24th if you made the cut for 24th shipment date
I still think early AT&T pre orders will arrive on the 24th

"Because of the incredible interest in iPhone 4, today was the busiest online sales day in AT&T history. As of Tuesday afternoon, customers who preorder iPhone 4 moving forward will receive their device on June 25 or later, depending on when the order is placed. We'll email customers with confirmation once their order is placed, and again when it ships. In addition, we will have devices available on a first-come, first-serve basis in our stores beginning on June 24."
Moving forward pre orders placed will get their phones on the 25th or later, pre orders placed early on should have them the 24th
That's how I read it.

If I understand all items should show back ordered because they are technically. I ordered my Iphone 4 thru AT&T at the butt crack of dawn yesterday, like 5:40 a.m so I'm pretty sure I'm in the first batch of pre-orders to be delivered on the 24th, this is what I show:

Where are you Premiere folks going to check your order status? I placed mine through Premiere because of our company discount.
When I go here, I get the "In Progress" like the bottom picture:

I ordered mine from an AT&T store yesterday at 10am MST. I checked to see the status last night and it showed back ordered as well. Just checked again right now and it's not showing back ordered anymore. I'm also a premier customer. I'm assuming they're slowly working through the orders...
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think everyone will have this status. I know I do.. If I remember correctly this happened last year when I ordered the 3Gs. Everything will smooth it's self out. people just need sit back and be a little more patient.
Last year I order my 3Gs very late and was in the bottom of the preorder list and still got it on launch day!
There's really no need to worry about something you can't control now.
I just spoke to a AT&T rep confirming what was already posted earlier regarding the June 24th shipping date.
I called to cancel my order at AT&T and get a refund (I ordered a "back-up" for pick-up at apple and received all supporting info), but she told me I cannot get a refund until I get the phone and then return it to AT&T. Also expect 10 days for the credit to show.
Not very smooth, but we have seen this before. Happy I went with a back-up plan....

Killahbee - The first screen with backordered is what you see when you check the status on the regular AT&T site...the second is what you see when you check the status on the Premiere AT&T site.
As for everyone else, thought I'd throw my two cents in...I ordered mine at 6:20 AM Central Time...and mine shows 1s under Ordered and 1s under Backordered on the regular AT&T site. On Premiere it still shows "Processing." My guess is the backordered thing is just a glitch for when Premiere customers check their status on the regular site.

I did have that status yesterday morning, but by mid-day it changed to QTY Ordered, and no longer QTY Backordered. I wouldn't look to much into it, I dont know if it means much given how everything was crazy yesterday. But not everyone has that status, mine do not say backordered, they say ordered.
This what I get when I try to go through the regular AT&T order status page:

But when I go through the premier/business at&t order status I get the screenshot I posted in the post above.

I was getting the same thing but I remembered that my billing zip code and my shipping code was different. So I tried my billing zip code and it shows the status but not for my shipping. SO if you entered different zips try the other one.

I have your screen as well when I check from my account via the email I was sent, the screen I posted is when I check via the web on my ATT account.
i just got off the phone with AT&T rep she said that some people show back ordered and some don't they dont know why. The reason there showing is back ordered is because the phones are not in. She also said that if you placed your order before 3:30 est that you will be getting your phone the 24th or 25th. they don't know how the shipping is going to work yet.
Try searching off of your wireless number on this site. I had to use the wireless number on the regular AT&T site...and then it provided a different order number on that site, too, that I can now search on.
Apparently the order number for Premiere orders is a different number when associated on the regular AT&T site.
