I guess they say 24 or 25th just to cover their butts, because if they said 24th, some people may be very mad?
 
This what I get when I try to go through the regular AT&T order status page:

OS001: We're sorry but the information you entered was not recognized by our systems. Please contact us for further assistance.


But when I go through the premier/business at&t order status I get the screenshot I posted in the post above.


I order two iphone 4 yesterday at 0530est and only one is showing up on ATT site but both show up on the premier site...

When I called up premier they told me that one order has been processed and is in ATT regular system and the other is awaiting processing from an ATT rep.

This is why ATT has stopped all pre-orders, they need to catch up on yesterdays large amount of pre- orders.
 
I had to order my 3G because my AT&T store sold out while I was in line on launch day. My order status then would everyday/multiple times a day switch from being backordered to not being backordered. Also as others have said, it hasn't even been released yet :eek:

Finally went through...

So I placed my order through AT&T Premier on 6/15 at 5:00am central time(2 hours after pre ordering started). It took two days for my order to show up in the non-premier order status checker. On the non-premier order status it says that I ordered on 6/17 and I am on backorder....I hope this doesn't affect when I will get the phone because I ordered on 6/15.
 
I ordered from AT&T Premier 45 minutes after pre-orders began, obviously meeting the cutoff. However, yesterday I got an email saying my billing info was wrong and to call. I called and fixed it. I just checked the regular AT&T order tracking (not premier) and it said ordered on the 6/17 just like this:

I asked the rep if the card problem would cause me any delay in receiving my iPhone and she said no, but that was before I checked the AT&T order status and saw the 6/17 order date. Regular order status had always provided errors until after I fixed my billing.

My order date in premier is still 6/15 and I am going to call AT&T once they open today just to confirm that this won't delay my phone. I'll report back.
 
I show the same thing Ferris.......maybe you are right about the all orders being back-ordered. I hope you really are and that it doesn't mean we wont get our phones on the 24th.

Mine does not show backordered. And I ordered very early in the morning but wasn't able to completely close it out until the next day. Call them, you may be missing some info.
 
Well...just because of all the chatter on here I decided to call and see what they would tell me.

I asked about the back ordered status and differing order date on the AT&T Status page and the CSR said:

"There is conflicting information on customer's status pages, however if the iPhone was ordered early enough (I'd assume before 4pmEST) you will be receiving your phone on the 24th. I asked again, "so, even though it says back ordered...that doesn't mean anything regarding shipment time". She said, "No, they are working to ensure that regardless of what the order status is currently reporting...everyone who preordered on the 15th, early enough, will receive the phone on the 24th. She did say that by monday afternoon, if shipping/backorder information has not changed...to call back so they can ensure it has priority.



I still...am just waiting to see what happens...because, who knows!
 
I don't know if this helps, but I was just reading an old thread on the AT&T forums from when the 3GS was released last year, and everyone who ordered through Premier showed backordered until about two days before the release. They got them the following Monday, but only because AT&T didn't ship them overnight... so I think we'll all be ok to get them on the release date since they are being shipped overnight this time.

I get the same type info and I have a premier account. The only strange thing is it states 'New Service' on the webpage and this is actually replacing a 3GS.

Mine states New Service as well, but the confirmation email confirms that it's an actual upgrade so all is well.

I have the "new service" thing too when in fact it's an upgrade from a 3gs as well. Probably just another glitch I'm assuming. No where in my order confimation states that it is a new line or anything.
