Is there ANY way at all to to a complete backup of all my jailbreak tweaks, sources and settings? So that if i for example needed to restore my device i could restore from a backup afterwards? Thanks!

pkgbackup paid is worth it to me backups and installs all mt jb tweaks app repo's everything. you can find video's about both on youtube there is also appbackup but I haven't fallowed info about that one in forever.

is pkgbackup compatible with ios 5.0.1?
im reading conflicting reports?
I dont wanna spens 8 dollars if it wont be working...

I have used PkgBackup for two years and it has been a lifesaver in a countless number of occasions. Yes, it backs up EVERYTHING. All jailbreak tweaks have a "save file" that saves your settings in that particular tweak called Preference Files. PkgBackup saves those as well. It's the FIRST tweak I install on a restored, jailbroken phone (obviously, because I need my stuff back).

thank selena.
2 questions, do i need wifi on device to backup? i only have 3G.
and it only restores everything from cydia, right? not all my apps and contacts, sms'es and so on?

can someone please answer my last question? Im waiting to backup but first need to know answer...

Pkgbackup can backup to dropbox via wifi but also store the backup in contacts.
For the last after you use pkgbackup you'll have to sync with itunes to make it available after a restore.

So no, you dont need wifi. although i prefer the dropbox method.

Use and love Pkgbackup...but...for this JB, I ended not using my backup because a number of my numerous tweaks aren't 5.0+ ready yet and my first crack after JB'ing 5.0.1 and restoring from Pkgbackup resulted in a very unstable device.

By process of elimination, I got rid of the tweaks that aren't ready yet (like LiveClock) by starting with a fresh 5.0.1 load, running redsn0w again, and then putting back tweaks one at a time.

Certainly a pain and it defeats the purpose of backing up but I had a ton of tweaks and I'd say at least 10% of what I was using doesn't work with 5.0.1 yet.

Besides LiveClock you can leave off SBSchedule which is killing me.
