But you had already tried reinstalling Catalina one time and it didn't work right?
How come installing it on another partition (volume?) made it different?
Any ideas?
Yes i tried, and it didn’t work. I don’t know why it helped, but it was support manager’s advice. Maybe he knows something.

after a day still working good. I recommend to completely erase ssd and reinstall mac os

Lol Im sorry to tell you that this has been an issue with macOS for about a decade now. Graphic performance degrades over time until you reboot your Mac. This is obviously even more pronounced when using the pathetic Intel graphics. Nobody should reinstall and expect a fix for this issue. Ultimately its seems to be related to deep rooted problems with the OS that Apple seems to not know how to fix

Ok I found my problem.
I don't know if this will help anyone but I'm going to leave it here just in case.
It was the Wacom drivers that brought my computer down graphically. I don't plug in my tablet all of the time and since the lag were happening without it, I didn't think they were the problem.
Someone on Reddit having the same issue suggested reverting to an older version of the driver (6.3.36-2) which I did, and now everything works great! No more UI lags on my MbP 16.

Did you have lag with mouse?

Yes!! All of the sudden (seemingly randomly) the whole Desktop would lag (moving windows, opening closing them,...) Like the video you posted!
So I did another partition and installed a fresh Catalina on it. Everything worked better until i installed the Wacom drivers. The lag came back. That was my clue! From there a Google search lead me to this And voilà!
It's crazy but I feel like it's another computer. It's super smooth.
To those of you using a Wacom with the Macbook Pro 16, DO NOT install their latest drivers (6.3.38-3)!!!!

Thanks, uninstalling the Wacom drivers fixed more than one issue for me.

Hey everyone,
On the same subject, I found that an (awesome!!) app called Bettertouchtool, was the source of my mouse micro freezing sometimes. Killing the overall smoothness experience...
Apparently it's linked to it's Windows Snapping feature. Just deactivate that (it can be done per used software) and see if it's better.
I noticed that in Blender I couldn't draw nice curved lines because of this being switched on.

Is this standard for all MBP 16’s? Can someone give me a step by step instruction on how to do this?
