I transferred 350gb over wifi to a usb drive without an issue. Transfer rates were consistent throughout.

More interested in the plain USB C to USB A adapter as I don’t currently see a need for the HDMI Out.

If all you need is USBC to A, go for this $11 unit: http://www.nonda.co/products/usb-c-to-usb-3-0-mini-adapter

No power passthrough of course, but it works great for using with a USB3 card reader to load pictures from my cameras while out.
