Well Larian have already dropped the ball.
The MacOS and Windows versions are out of parity with the latest update and crossplay does not work - Which is major crap as myself and the lads can only jam our campaign over weekends.

Larian will release a physical copy of the game.

The amount of native Mac games is definitely important. Also they need to lower the price for each game.
No one wants to pay overprice for a game, and currently games for Macs aren't affordable at all.
I don't think mac games are to expensive if you can afford a mac to begin with. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I understand what that person means. A 5 year old game that’s $19.99 on any other system will be $29.99 on the Mac for whatever reason. Old and often overpriced games for sure

All the games on Steam have the same price for Mac and PC. Even Capcom had Resident Evil Village and 4 on sale with the same price on Steam and MAS. Actually RE Village and 4 are still on sale on MAS while they cost the full price on Steam. Even old games like Bioshock Remastered have the same price but those can go on sale on Steam but not on MAS. Lies of P has the same price on Steam for Mac/PC and on MAS.

Popular new roleplaying game Baldur's Gate 3 is available to play on the Mac starting today. The title can be downloaded through the Steam platform and it is playable on Apple silicon Macs.

The game's minimum requirements include the M1 processor and 8GB RAM, but the recommended requirements suggest an M1 Pro or better Apple silicon chip and at least 16GB RAM. With the M1 chip, the game can be run on low to medium settings, but the recommended requirements support high or ultra settings.

Baldur's Gate 3 was initially released on Windows in August, and it is the third game in the Baldur's Gate series. Players can choose one of six pre-made characters or create a custom character to play. The game is set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, and it uses turn-based combat.

There are 12 classes and 11 races to choose from, along with options to play solo or online with up to four people.

Baldur's Gate 3 has received almost universally positive reviews, and it is available from Steam for $60.

16GB or better recommended huh? Let's hope you didn't buy a 2023 base 14" MacBook Pro and hope to play this game at a decent graphical level 🤦‍♂️

I agree that 16GB should be the minimum today and for better future-proofing. Unfortunately, some people continually tell us that the average person doesn't need more than 8GB and that 8GB is "more computer than most people need!" 🤣

We saw it just this morning:

Or maybe it's that most MacBook Air users have no interest in playing games? 🤷‍♂️
Anyone defending 8GB in a $1600 computer in 2024 is just being silly or trolling us. We're looking at a ~$20 cost difference to Apple when comparing 8GB and 16GB. Having less than 1TB on a $1600 computer is also taking the piss when you see how cheap that component is for Apple to purchase.

Typical Apple, isn't it? I suppose the mac has to cost $5000+ for the base model to have higher memory capacity.
Even the Mac Pro 7.1 base model had 256GB SSD storage, while the iMac Pro got 1TB.

Sorry for the stupid question but…. Do you need or recommend a game controller for Balders Gate 3 on the Mac, or do you use the Keyboard?

I'd recommend KB+Mouse, as the controller makes doing some stuff (like turning on and off torches) more cumbersome. Though I will admit I like the "spell wheel" the controller has a bit more.

Larian Studios did not release game discs for mac/PC.
Physical Goodies:
Game Disc: CD key and installer.
But they have game discs for the PS5 and XBOX. It clearly states: Playable from the disc

That's unfortunate, because I wanted a physical copy. As I already bought the game through GoG.

Or am I missing something?
