The developers aren't. That's not what the first link says. Just that official modding tools were released and that someone made a real time combat mod. And that someone asked the developers to, not that they are.

I think BG3 is just not the game for you if you're thinking about modding half the gameplay from the jump. It's just not even remotely going to be the same experience.
