That's probably payroll for his 60 employees in Pakistan!

Most likely so!

Even if he did have a legitimate business, and it wasn't all being closed by Apple, then who would pay between $1M and $10M for an App Store company, earning $5K revenue, with pakistan employees... I'm sorry but even then it would be nuts.

Especially the "Pay me $5K if you want to know the name of one of our apps" even that is fishy.

It's all stupid.

What a joke.....asking price of $1M to 10M is a HUGE range and business is only generating $10K to $50K in revenue

BTW, anybody that is considering purchasing this business should contact me about some beautiful land in central Florida and I have a great bridge in NYC for sale

Walt Disney turned his central Florida land into gold, so maybe not the best example.

The man is a cheat and a fraud.

Now he is going from ripping people off $5.00 for crap ads to wanting a few million for a defunct company!.

How is he going to generate revenue with his Apps pulled.

I don't see him taking Apple to court.

All you would be buying is his debts while he runs off to Mexico.

...............

I just had a look at his Web site.

He recons that HP, Microsoft and Apple are his clients. Ha HA HA!

And doing a WHOIS seach for the domain name reveals some interesting tit-bits:

The owners have chosen to hide their identity via a proxy registration at godaddy.com, known to be used by a lot of dodgy folk.

The only contact details on the web site are a proxy email address.

After a little digging:

As well as his Apps Company he is also selling his 2008 Porsche:

http://www.unocardealers.com/download?fid=10692

The phone nuber on the web site is at lest as real one.

He has been invoced with making and (trying) to sell a number of webs sites. Largly invoved in image uploads( We all know what this represnts) and sites involved in selling hiding IPs

His CV is on his website here: http://www.shakeinc.com/

If it is to be believed he seems like he is good at generating income (millions) and he is first class software engineer.

Makes you wonder why are iPhone apps etc so crap! Why does he hide behind a proxy.

He also is/was living in a blo*dy nice appartment if his address is to believed. I was going to post a pic, but then I thought this likely a breach of privacy and may land me in the poo.

Hey, I just got an email from a widow in Nigeria with $56,000,000 she needs to get out of the country. I am forwarding her letter to this guy. Maybe they can work something out.

Problem solved.

Good riddance, but... in other articles about this dude, he was listed as the "third most prolific" developer on the App Store, which begs the question WHO THE HELL ARE THE OTHER TWO WHO HAVE *MORE* THAN 800 APPS EACH? I'll be glad to eat my hat if either developer has produced 800+ unique quality apps that are worth being on the App Store, considering the many potentially useful and/or well designed ones that have been rejected.

I actually got an email response from him yesterday. They are in the process of moving the company to Nigeria.

BTW every page on his site has 1 or 2 click here's that don't have a link in them.

Brighthouse Labs has approx. 1,960 apps currently listed on the US App Store.
Great. One travelguide for every city and country, one SupaFan app for every celebrity. So basically they have two applications, not 2,000. No wonder Apple has bragging rights for 70,000 apps. How many unique apps are there really, 700?

Really ? And you know this how ? Or just another example of mindless chauvanistic nationalism ?
I was under the impression that it's a U.S. based company...? I somehow doubt it's run by a "furrener". He has a foreign sounding (arabic) name, but so do 98.5% of Americans as far as the indigenous population is concerned. ;)

Additional information has come to light about Shaikh showing that he has been attempting to sell Perfect Acumen, the business entity responsible for the development of his apps, for some time now. <snip>
Wow. Just wow!

That business description is good for a nice laugh.

For example, price range from 1 to 10 times? What the heck is that?

Give them $5,000 to see the real data? If I need a second look at the books, does it cost me another $5,000?

Employee expansion. Unbelievable along with the increase in apps.

Anyhow, it gave me a nice chuckle.

So what constitutes an app for it to count in the app store?

Looks like anything that you can DL free or for a price is how Apple is counting. As we can see, probably not the best way to do it.

Still trying to figure out who the other one is...
I'm curious to know who it is as well.

Typical foreign business tactics............

I hope he receives nothing.

Yeah, those pesky foreigners... wait... isn't the iPhone built in China?

Yeah, how come this guy can't do business like American businessmen, like the Enron guys, or Bernie Madoff, or countless other American slimeballs?

NOTE TO MarkAK: It's not a good idea to make ignorant blanket statements about "foreigners." Bad business tactics aren't the exclusive domain of non-Americans; there are plenty of sleazy American business people, as the daily news attests.

BTW, I'm a born-and-bred American, although my Louisiana certificate of live birth (yes, that's what I have and have used to travel all over the world) wouldn't appease the birthers... :D

Yesterday we reported on a MobileCrunch story> about developer Khalid Shaikh, whose developer status was terminated by Apple over third-party intellectual property complaints, resulting in the removal of all of his apps from the App Store. Shaikh had several hundred apps under his name in the App Store, many of which seemed to simply pulled data on a specific subject from the web without providing any other original or unique content. Additional information has come to light about Shaikh showing that he has been attempting to sell Perfect Acumen, the business entity responsible for the development of his apps, for some time now.

Is this guy back with the SupaFan apps?

On Flippa.com, his auction is titled "1400 iPhone Applications for Sale" with the most recent listing date as July 2. Although all of the apps he previously had in the App Store were listed under his name alone, the details within this auction reveal that the apps were the products of Perfect Acumen. The auction is still active and shows no offers pending or accepted.

Previous auction listingsshow an interesting trail of information for the business, with the first auction in January indicating that the business had 5 employees and earned $1800 per month in revenue, all the way to the current listing that states the business has 60 employees with revenue between $10,000 and $50,000 per month. Shaikh also reveals in this listing that headcount is expected to increase to "120 to 240" by the end of this year and that they plan to have over 10,000 apps within this same time frame.

According to Perfect Acumen's website, the company is a "website design/development, graphics and internet marketing company" so iPhone app development is apparently only one aspect of its operations. The current auction consists of "100% ownership" of the company, including its website, content, 1400 iPhone apps, and 100 Android applications. No mention whatsoever is made of Apple's decision to terminate its relationship with Khalid Shaikh and withdraw all of his apps from the App Store.
