For those of you rocking your Airs without cases or screen protectors, how are they holding up? Scratches, dings, dents, etc?

Dropped it multiple times, minor scuff on the titanium band in the top left corner otherwise perfect

I use a MagSafe phone grip so I don't know if that counts as fully naked. It doesn't protect from drops but it prevents them. So far no drops, still pristine.

Mine looks great and have been using without a case or screen protector. One thing which does show up are little scratches on the titanium, probably from drops but these are very minor scratches. not scuffs or anything. the type which show up on stainless steel watches etc. i don't consider this to be a fault or anything, just the price of using without a case which is well worth it.

Great to hear of all the reports of its durability. That new ceramic shield glass really seems to be the real deal this year! So tempted to run mine without a case or screen protector but I have the black one and I'm so worried that dropping it will result in very noticeable scratches/finish loss.

and these should be able to be buffed out with a polishing cloth as well - assuming you own the cloud white version

Yeah - but I own the blue one! otherwise may have done that! But it's ok, it's the price of going caseless and feeling the design.

I've dropped it a few times (all indoors) because it's top heavy, and the screen protector did it's job. Still rockin without a case and not a blemish on it.

Dropped once from my joggers pocket onto my driveway. Same minor scuff but on both top corners. You can only see them in the right lighting and I’d have to point them out to most people. Screen and back glass are pristine. I’m very pleased with the durability.

Been using it without screen protector or case. Only exception was a few times when I wanted to use the lanyard.

A few minor drops and a few minor scuffs on the titanium, however all indoor. Cannot really see or feel them. Would have to “inspect” the unit to notice anything.

Screen is still perfect, even after being dropped on tile from couch height and bouncing flat onto the screen.

I will note that I have avoided putting it screen down on any surfaces. It’s always screen up.

Also, my pocket only has the iPhone in it, nothing else. Wallet and AirPods go in one, iPhone in the other.

I imagine careless people who drop it into a pocket or purse with loose change, keys, diamond rings, etc are going to complain about durability lol

I do worry a bit about what may happen if I drop onto concrete outside but I do have AppleCare+ so it will be just be an inconvenience at most.

My girlfriend's Air from 2 years ago has survived 7+ drops (that I know of). Edges are rough but no cracks and everything works perfectly.

Mine has two clusters of scratches / scuffs on the frame from two big drops on concrete and lots of micro scratches on the screen protector. One of the edges of the screen protector even shattered and i haven't bothered to change it.

I passed the honeymoon phase so now I don't even think about it and I don't mind being rough with it.

Kind of goes to the point many people miss: screen protectors are way less durable than the original glass.

There’s so many users who have no cracks or scratches on their original display even months later and even with some drops (like me).

A lot of people think “thank god I had a screen protector” fully unaware that without it they’d have been just fine, if not better off.

Further incontrovertible proof of time travel.

Great point. They also essentially negate the enhanced anti-glare coating.

And oleophobic coating. That’s the main reason I don’t use a screen protector—there doesn’t seem to be one that prevents oils and fingerprints better than the factory coating. If it ever wears off, I’ll consider getting a protector just for the coating.
