Still going strong. Nice black screen without micro scratches, got a very tiny nick on the action button but barely perceptible. Been using it naked since the day I got it, minus a handful of days where I took it to a beach/trip and put it in a case so I can use the strap.

Otherwise, yeah, it's still pretty much perfect. Was dropped on floor indoors a few times, once face down on a hard tile floor from couch height (that one made me nervous, but when I lifted it there was no damage, not even scratches). No outdoors drops so far.

Kept in my shorts pockets, but I don't carry anything else in that pocket (though I know some people claimed they get scratches even from pocket lint, not the case for me).

I have had my Space Black Air since I was able to pre-order mine . . . so September. Since having mine, I have not seen a single blemish on any part of the surface of my Air. Today, it still looks just as pristine as it was the day I took it out of its box for the first time. This is a very well made iPhone. I still love using mine every time I use it. Such an amazing iPhone! 🙂

Pristine despite several drops and a few times it slid from my rather slick couch cover to the tile floor. Use Apple's case for it only when traveling as I handle in much more at the airports to check flights, weather, buy coffee, etc. Super happy with it (went from iPhone 15 Pro to Air in September) and still get a (minor) thrill when handling it as the hand-feel is great.

How is the black Air after 3+ months? I thought about black as well though ended up getting white. How are the fingerprints, smudges etc. especially over time?

I get fingerprints along my polished edges and occasionally on my back but the iPhone always cleans up nice.

If this is all I have to worry about and still keep my exterior surfaces perfect then I’m okay with having to occasionally wipe down my iPhone to erase the finger prints and smudges👍🏽

The Space Black color is still amazing to look at 😎

My case is starting to get some smudges on it, so I figured I’d try mine caseless again (with a Moft wallet stand on the back for grip). I decided to reactivate AC+ with it too and I’ll see how that goes.

Even with my thin Peel case, I forgot how much better the air looks without one. It's one of the reasons I bought it, I don’t mind a few dings here and there, gives it some character.

Edit: Tried it for a few days, unfortunately it's just a little too slippery for me, even with a grip on the back. My case makes it much easier to hold. Would have loved to use this without the case though 😞

Any black Air users that have dropped their phones onto tile, pavers, concrete, parking lots, etc.? I'm so curious how the black coating on the titanium holds up to drops onto unforgiving surfaces.

Zero issues. Edges great, screen without scratches. I don't baby my phones either. I'd say this is probably on par with all my other iPhones. Generally upgrade every year to the max size and started going careless 5 years ago.
