I don't really remember Batman or Batman Returns. I was too young when I saw them. However, I unfortunately remember the Batman movies after it. They were all horrible, absolutely terrible. Batman Begins is fabulous, it's dark. The other movies scenery were far too unbelievable, and too full of colours. In Begins, it actually look like an actual city for the most part. The Narrows looked a little fake from a distance, but aside from that it was all well done.

I have to say I liked Begins a good deal.

Katie Holmes got on my nerves, but Bale and Michael Caine were there to tip the scales back to cool.

Cillian Murphy was cool as Scarecrow. I enjoyed that character. I know nothing at all about Scarecrow from the comics, that could be why.

And the way Batman looked when Scarecrow was hallucinating....awesome.

The first two are definitely worth a viewing, pick them up if you can. After Begins, the 1989 Batman is my favorite, and although I didn't like Returns as much at the time, when compared to the 2 following ones it's pretty good too, but not as good at the 1989 one. In some respects, it was actually even darker than the 1989 one (thanks to Mr. Burton ;)), but the story and such just wasn't there.

In order of preference:

#1 - Batman Begins
#2 - Batman (1989)
#3 - Batman Returns
#4 - Batman (1966) (just because the others sucked so much, this one ranks higher than them  )
#5 & #6 - Batman Forever and Batman & Robin - who cares what order, it doesn't matter...

I think The 1989 Movie would have been better had it used the first screenplay written in 86, how cool would it have been to see Alfred pull a gun on Dick Grayson?

I never read that screenplay - I'll have to find myself a copy. :)

anyone else amazed by Gary Oldman (as Gordon) to reinvent himself? It took me until the credits to be sure it was him. I couldn't register his voice being him.

Hmm, now I'll have to check it out... I like a couple of other Tarantino projects and I <3 Christopher Walken.

I think Gary Oldman is one of the most underrated actors of our time... how this guy has never been nominated for an Oscar (list of his award nominations: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000198/awards) is beyond me.

Meanwhile, you have crap actors like Denzel Washington and Al Pacino who play the same character over, and over, and over, and over again... I just don't see how can anyone justify their Oscars/nominations/popularity?

I'll agree with you on Denzel for sure, Pacino I'm indifferent on although I haven't seen a lot of his stuff. But as with anything, a lot of it is personal preference - I hated Training Day, I know people who liked it - meh... ;)

that's what i've been saying for a long time. Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead was another brilliant movie. Looks like it was finally released on DVD. I believe it was completely out of print for awhile.

Y'know i almost forgot he was Dracula too. Oh and Beethoven and Sid Vicious as well. Cripes!
