So it has used 17% in 26 minutes .... so 17 / 26 = 0.65% per minute? Where do you get 3% per minute?

How embarrassing. Ironically I'm minoring in math :p. In any case, that still puts me at 2 hours of usage on a full charge which still does not meet Apple's standards.

Don't sweat it ... fellow math minor here. So it's just over 2.5 hours, right? 100% / 0.65% = 153 minutes

Depending on what you are doing during that 2.5 hours, that is a pretty fast decay rate.

This is starting to piss me off.

BRAND new replacement iPhone 5 from Apple. Running iOS 7.0.2. I did a clean install to iOS 7 when I got the replacement phone and then used iExplorer to put app data back.

Usage is 26 minutes. TWENTY-SIX minutes. Standby is 2 hours. Battery percentage is at 83%. Almost 20% gone in such a short amount of time...that's a bit ridiculous.

Suggests that it wasn't hardware and perhaps not iOS 7. But something like Bluetooth on but not connected to anything, background app refresh, multiple push emails etc. Perhaps a combo of things

9 times out of 10, I'm using my phone to check Twitter, Facebook, local news, notification center, Flipboard, email or to text someone. I very rarely play games so it's not even anything intensive. That's what confuses me the most - it's light usage and it seems to drop the percentage like crazy. Definitely did not have this problem on iOS 7.

Bluetooth always toggled off, used only when I'm in the car. Background app refresh all toggled to off, with the exception of Find Friends. I have two email accounts, one Exchange and one iCloud. My battery definitely didn't go this quickly on iOS 6 so it's got to be something on iOS 7 - either that or Apple needs to re-evaluate how the phone calculates battery percentage.

Surfing the web on 3G kills my battery faster than playing heavy games like the latest Need for Speed or Infinity Blade 2...

In a bad reception area, I'd get about 3,5 hrs worth of 3G usage. But changing no settings and doing the same things at home (on wifi), I'll get up to nine hours of usage.

Have you checked the system location services? Things like frequent places might suck your battery dry in using the GPS non stop.

Had the following twice now within the week

Left the house in the evening with around 50% ... went to the local bar ..

on route setup for 3G worked fine..

Get to the pub switches to Wifi ... check news ... some email ..... great

within 2 hours the battery shows less than 20% ..

once it actually switched off with the RED battery from hell...

on the other occasion (last night) is had a red 9% then down to 5% a few mins later..

long pressed the power button to switch the whole phone off ...

in the Taxi on the way back ... played with the phone ....oops switched it back on ..

it comes back to life and now shows 30-35% ....

Ill try and repeat this again ... might be important that there is no WiFi at the time ...

Anybody else out there care to repeat this on low battery ... would also suggest only 3G as LTE is a battery killer any ways ...

I have a ip5 32GB EU 3G modle on 7.0.2 .. :).
