Ha ha, gotta love how you have to say how much of a fan you are of jailbreaking BEFORE you spout off your misinformed 2 cents of TOSH all over this site!!

I'm having exact same problem, if its tish tosh can u tell me how to fix?

If you get 8 hours of average use and only lose 7% battery then I want to know where you got your iPhone from, because that is a bunch of lies.

You got any screen shots of this super battery you own?

My new ip 5 seems to get about that with no jailbreak...

X2

There is no way in hell that guy is getting 30-35 hours with medium to heavy usage either.

I was lucky to make it through the day with heavy usage before the jailbreak and its no better now.

That's about what I get on my new iPhone 5 before jailbreak...

I have a battery issue post jailbreak too!

Hi guys,

Just to add to this:

I have a battery issue post jailbreak on my iphone on 6.1.1. Like Adm3 i have taken the jailbreak off and battery life back to normal. I think i'm going to wait a while until a non evasion jailbreak comes out. I'm just hypothesising that it might be something to do with their jailbreak. I have never had battery issues when jailbreaking my ipod touch with redsnow.

That's a shame to hear. Based on past history, I'd say the next "non-evasi0n" jailbreak won't come out till iOS 7 (assuming someone can successfully exploit it).

How old is your 4s? The older, the more likely the battery isn't going to be that great. I went vanilla for a bit waiting for the jailbreak and the battery wasn't all that great, probably just as good post jailbreak, I've had mine since the 4s first came out.

I don't think you can just blame it on an old battery. I'm in the same boat and the battery drain issue started only after updating to 6.x and jailbreaking. Batteries don't just suddenly go bad. Maybe sometimes, but it's very rare and usually due to damage. Otherwise it will be a gradual reduction in performance over time. This problem is like flipping a switch.

I've tried just about everything at this point aside from doing a restore as new. I need to have a bigger window of time to do that since I'll need to rebuild everything like contacts and such that is just going to be a big PITA.

That's the last thing I can try. I don't know what to do if that doesn't work. Throw my phone out the window? My iPhone wouldn't be the same without ISX installed or some of the other essential tweaks that I've come to rely on. It doesn't help that jailbreaks are taking longer and longer. I think I would just rather bite the bullet and get an Android phone than have to go back to the stock iOS.

You can just test your phone as "new" by doing the DFU restore and setting it up under a temporary new phone name in iTunes, jailbreaking, and not restoring your personal data at this time. Then see if it drains the battery any differently for 24 hours. You can restore your old backup to your iPhone at any time.

My 4s is one week old. I'm still on the same charge from charging my phone last night...only on 58%. That's with music, wifi, 3G. On jailbreak i'd have been on 10% by now! Even with clean jailbreak no apps my battery drained faster...thus the only logical conclusion is that there was something wrong with the jb

I guess I could try the temp restore and see if that helps.

Here is a screenshot of my phone yesterday. After about an hour and a half it's already down to 65%. The phone is almost always warm to the touch. There's also a screenshot from BatteryDetective. Shows a lot of drain and battery temp. That's with nothing running in the background.

edit - I know that the true battery capacity was higher before all this started and it is going down alarmingly. I think that whatever is draining the battery is wearing it out faster as well. FML.

What do you have installed?

Just wanted to give a little update to my situation.

I bit the bullet and restored as a new phone and jailbroke. The battery didn't seem to be draining quickly after about an hour of waiting. I then started loading all my app store apps back on. Fortunately all my contacts and notes were intact without restoring any backups. I was also able to restore my camera roll via iFunbox(after much time tinkering). Then I slowly started adding back Cydia apps one by one. I've paired down a bit what I used to have but I have the "essentials"(to me) loaded back on.

So far I haven't noticed any significant draining. I'll see how it goes for the next few days, but it seems ok now. Definitely not over-heating.

The issue I had with the mail app snapping back to one of my inboxes from whatever other box I was I was in seems to have cleared up too.

I did get that issue where all mailboxes were showing messages with no content. I had to reboot to clear it up. It's only happened once so far and I'm not sure what's causing that.

It is the jailbreak. I had battery problem when my 4s was Jailbreaked and nothing installed from cydia.

Did you do a fresh restore to factory without restoring any backups at all?

I'm pretty convinced at this point that there was *something* inherent in my phone left over from previous versions that was being carried over by restoring backups. This is the only thing I can attribute to my battery not draining now.

It's been in standby for about 90 minutes now and it is still at 100%. If you look at my previous attachment it shows that my phone was down to 63% after the same amount of time.

I think I may be on to something with the no content mail issue. I think it might be related to IntelliscreenX 6. I noticed that when no messages were showing(this happened again just now), if I went to the lock screen the messages would show up there. If I opened through ISX all the messages in my mail would show up again. Gonna try and contact the dev and report as possible bug.

I had a similar experience with battery drain and auto brightness not working.
My solution was to delete all email accounts, reboot, then reset all settings.
After that auto brightness works normally and the battery is back to norm.

Has anyone heard directly from the source on whether or not JB is the cause?

Well it's been a few more days and my battery is performing just as well or better than it used to, so knock on wood for that. I haven't had the mail issue happen again either so more knocking on wood.

I'm convinced, at least in my situation, that the problem was somehow related to the backup from previous iOS version being restored on the 6.x jailbreak. Something was being carried over that did not play nice and could not be fixed without starting fresh. It wasn't a major hassle and gave me the opportunity to do some spring cleaning, but I surely don't want to do it again anytime soon.

I have most of the Cydia apps loaded back on that I used to save a few. I'm kind of gun-shy at the moment because everything is working well and I'd hate to screw it up. Especially since I'm going on vacation next week and really need to just have my phone working as long as possible every day.

Here's a list of what I have installed at the moment.

Action Menu
Acivator
Exchange Unlock
Five-Column SpringBoard
FolderEnhancer
iFile
IntelliscreenX 6
MobileTerminal
MultiIconMover
My3G
OpenSSH
PasswordPilot Pro
PhotoAlbums+
PkgBackup
PwnTunes
SBSettings
ScrollingBoard

NovemberWhiskey is right on the money with a 5-8% drain over night! I did a lot of testing and it appears the jailbreak its self is the culprit and not any one tweak or app.

While I respect your opinion and hope you stick around the forum and join in the various discussions, I have to say, I completely disagree with this statement. Not only am I jailbroken, but I have a bunch of stuff installed from Cydia and I only lose 1%, maybe 2% overnight. So if what you say is true, that its the jailbreak itself, well that's wrong because we would all experience this drastic overnight drain. I know of others too who don't experience this. I respectfully disagree with your assessment.

Anyways, welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy it!
