Iphone 6+ here on 8.1. I am seeing about 10% battery drain overnight with background updates turned off (and most of the system services privacy options off).

With my iPhone 5 on the last ios7 update, my battery drained only 1% at most overnight.

Is this normal for ios8 and the iPhone 6?

Last week my phone was charging before I went to bed so I unplugged it when it was at a 100%. After a full night sleep and 1 hour of alarms that do vibrate my phone was still at 100%

10% seems like a lot, mine has never drained more than 2% overnight.
I also have everything on, except Bluetooth and WiFi.

No. It should use only 0-1% in 6-8 hours of standby.

Been this way for me with 4, 5, 5s, and now 6. Used slightly more in 3GS.

Don't forget the last piece of the puzzle, cellular strength. Weaker cellular signals use more battery than strong ones.

That, and it's possible there's an app in the background that's sapping your battery while it's sleeping. Chat apps (WhatsApp, etc.) are the biggest culprits.

unfortunately, it's already off, and i also close all my apps before i turn my phone off.

it drained 34% last night in under 8 hours :/. i also generally get around 4 hours of usage before it's at 10% (including a day of standby)

Put it in aeroplane mode tonight see if that helps

Yes try this.

Btw what is your typical signal level where you put it for the night? I have pretty bad signal strength in my house so I typically turn off data(GPRS/3G/4G) completely and just rely on wifi at home.

My 6+ had major battery drain after the 8.1 update. Where as before I would have around 70% at the end of the day, I would have 30% or less after I updated to 8.1. Tried Reset Network Settings, Reset All, deleted apps, turned off Bluetooth, etc and the problem still persisted. The only thing that worked was to Restore the phone as new from iTunes. Now it's back to being a battery champ!

Not normal. Add another vote for investigating cellular signal strength. Why aren't you charging over night, BTW?

Signal strength is very low.. though not sure what that has to do with it .

The cell radio adjust power as needed to reach the tower. Full signal means very little power used. Weak signal causes phone to transmit full power and drains the battery quickly.

what if Wifi is on?

i'm asking because I only have 3 bars at home but on wifi and overnight with a fully charged phone before sleeping shows 0-1% use when I get up....
