what if Wifi is on?

i'm asking because I only have 3 bars at home but on wifi and overnight with a fully charged phone before sleeping shows 0-1% use when I get up....

I wouldn't call three bars low signal. Although the phone may still ramp up power due to obstructions like walls and buildings.

Wifi moves most data off the cell radio but there is still some occasional activity. Nearby Wifi will drastically reduce cell radio and battery use.

The iPhone 6 has max 16 day standby if it is doing nothing. That's 6% per day or 2% for 8 hours. So that's what you should expect when the phone is idle.

Would actually depend on the number of notifications you recurve through the night... As notifications wake the screen... I have DND timed to be active through the night.. As are duly I don't lose more than 3-5% through my 7-9 hours of sleep...
Edit: and of course cell signal... I have full five bars in my home...

That's at lab condition with data/wifi/bt turned off and absence of any background processing) :) .

Well I did say doing nothing. And look at the expected drain. Yet some say they have less.

There are too many factors to say what's notmal but a few % over 8 hours doesn't sound unusual at all. Even 10% means it would take 80 hours to run it down. Not unreasonable depending on what is going on in the background.

With 4G data turned on, push email and some background apps refresh, I think anything from 0.5% to 1.5% per hour drain for 6+ is pretty normal.

My iPhone 5 running on iOS 8.1 drains around 2% battery over night where as my iPhone 6 running the same OS goes down about 10-15% during the same time. :(

Set up the 6 as new when I got it. No backup was restored.

Might have to do a restore again if it keeps happening.

My 6+ had major battery drain after the 8.1 update. Where as before I would have around 70% at the end of the day, I would have 30% or less after I updated to 8.1. Tried Reset Network Settings, Reset All, deleted apps, turned off Bluetooth, etc and the problem still persisted. The only thing that worked was to Restore the phone as new from iTunes. Now it's back to being a battery champ!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Before I upgraded to 8.1 I was on 8.0. The battery life was amazing. I could take off the charger surf the web or whatever and my percentage would not start dropping for at least 2 hrs. I could go at least 2 days before charging. Now on 8.1 it will drop 4% in less than an hour being off the charger. I tried going back to 8.0 but Apple stopped signing the software. I need a fix.

unfortunately, it's already off, and i also close all my apps before i turn my phone off.

it drained 34% last night in under 8 hours :/. i also generally get around 4 hours of usage before it's at 10% (including a day of standby)

What carrier and what's your signal strength? Poor signal will kill your battery life easily as your phone ramps up transmitter power to stay connected.

My 6 almost never drains even 1% overnight. I have DND on at night but otherwise everything else is normal. All radios on, etc.

My iPad does that sometimes, which I attribute to letting it auto-download and install app updates. I manually update on my phone and overnight drain is usually zero or 1 percent with everything else enabled.

My iphone 6 battery drains 30-40% over night :( if i turn off cellular data it drain like 2%. I have 3 bar semnal .. But my husband iphone 5 have same semnal and it drain 2% and use ios 8.1 . I dis restore as new i did reset netwok setting but it works ok one night then again drain fast.. I guess if it was poor semnal my husband phone should drain like mine.. Is something wrong with my phone??

0 - 2 % max

My iPhone 6 drains 0 - 2 % max... if it is 10% or More then you have check your apps thats running in the back ground consistently...:apple:
