Hi all, I just got the 13 pro today and my battery dropped from 96% to 93% to 90% all within 2 minutes. Was just web browsing the forums. Is this normal for a new phone like does it need to calibrate or something or is something up! Sorry I don’t mean to complain on launch day!

Totally normal after setting up phone. There’s a lot going on in the background for the next day or 2

Thank you! It scared me a bit! I had a lot of problems with my last phone and almost had an anxiety attack if I had to go through that in a new phone!

All I have ever heard is that there’s all sorts of indexing going on over the next few days after setting up a new phone. I upgrade every year since joining the IUP and it’s always the case. Nothing to be concerned about.

Thank you for the explanation! This is my first new phone in a few years so I was concerned but it’s comforting to know it’s normal and you have experienced it! Hoping this phone will last me a good few years as well!

Is anyones else experiencing this? I realize it’s normal and hopefully will correct but I’ve never experienced this before.

I have the identical experience. I’ve restarted a few times and it dropped three percent at a time. It doesn’t give me much confidence either. I’m on a 13 Pro 128 GB

Please let me know when it gets better /corrects!

Keep a eye on it, should settle down in the next couple of days, once the phone has finished doing its thing in the background.

Did you restore from backup? Usually it don’t drain that fast unless something is causing it to.
I did the side by side restore with my old phone. But my pictures are backed up on Google photos and I don’t have a ton of apps. The restore only took about 10 minutes.

restored from my Mac, no iCloud, background app refresh turned off.

13 pro max off the charger 5:30am this morning.

58% battery left 6h5m usage.

Use/Drain it all the way down to 0 and charge it back up. If it still does that, best to take it back for a new one.

Did you check Settings>Battery to see if there are any activities that can explain the drain? Normally, after a setup, there may be other background activities from backup like iCloud etc may continue to run to resync any missing content.

It will eventually subside. Just use it as is and charge it when it’s low and possibly some services will finish to run when connected to power.
