I had a 2015 MacBook base model and experienced a quick drop in battery health in a span of just a few weeks. Decided at that time to return it. I want to replace my iPad with a MacBook and was wondering if I would experience the same issue with the 2017 model? Thanks

I have not heard of changes regarding the battery itself in the 2017 model, though usage may be different. There have been posts by people concerned at the drop in reported battery health after a small number of cycles, (eg here) but my understanding is that the health drops relatively quickly early in its life then flattens out. Is that maybe what you were seeing with your 2015? Obviously some reports do indicate a faulty battery.

Thanks for the reply. My situation is that the 13" MacBook Pro with 128GB SSD is currently $100 cheaper than the best price MacBook. This would not be my main machine but for travel and iPad replacement. Looking for the best combo of price, and portability. Need to decide before Best Buy sale is off

I like the idea of the macbook - and the thing I'm most concerned about is longevity. Are many people seeing issues with the health of the 2017 model?

That's what I am trying to find out while I can still return it but not able to find much information. I can buy a MacBook Pro at Best Buy 13" 8gb 256 for $50 more
than I paid for the MacBook. However the MacBook is my second computer replacing my iPad for on the road. Not sure here.
