You’re not the only one, 48% with 2hr 45min screen on time, so at best a 5.5hr day for me.

That is just awful. Have you noticed a percent going down like every 5 minutes of browsing the web? I’m not even watching videos etc

Exactly this - It’s as bad as my iPhone 6s was.

Weirdly the Xs performs really well watching video, but anything else kills the battery.

Are you on WiFi? I haven’t done as much testing on WiFi. Do you plan on taking to apple?

Mixture of WiFi and cellular, I’m thinking of taking it in, but I’m nearly at the end of my 14 day returns window - not sure whether to just return it and try again with a new phone!

I wonder if the iOS 12 screen on and off times are equivalent to usage times in prior versions to iOS or if they aren't really counting the same things (or there's perhaps some bug there affecting it).

Im having the same battery problems with my iphone xs max. Took the phone off the charger at 7AM, its 10AM and im down to 72% WTH (only used safari, watch some youtube, text and short call) Called Verizon and they are sending me a new phone because the battery drain sounded very poor to them and me.

New phone expected to ship on 10/17/2018 ;(

Totally random but if anyone set their phones as new and then waited for iCloud to restore activity data, it only does that when the phone is unlocked so that may explain some excess drain early on.

I am getting excellent battery life with my XS, 4 to 5 hours screen on time per day leaves me with around 50% battery life. Overnight battery drain is 1% or less.

I did a DFU restore on my XS Thursday hoping that would improve the battery situation.

Today: 2hrs 10mins on screen time, down to 54%. Which suggests it has had no effect.

i make DFU mood yesterday to my iphone xs max the battery was amazing yesterday i charged phone 4 pm and today 1:37 pm and i have still 25%

and my screen time 7 a hours

I was having this problem as well, I turned off screen time. I then turned off my phone turned back on turned on screen time again and left my phone for 12 hours minus moving it and quickly checking the battery It went down 4%, it had been dropping 12% overnight.

I think it’s a bug with screen time and the longer it’s running the more resources it’s using that’s the only thing I can think of, after reading other users on Reddit having success with turning screen time off. I’m going to run it for a week and see if the battery starts getting worse again, then do a repeat of turning off screen time turning off the phone then re-enablng screen time when I turn the phone back on and see if it fixes it again. Its the only thing I can think of right now.

It could be of course that turning my phone off and on again stopped some runaway process that was not showing, my phone was perfect battery wise when I got it from new on release and now it’s back to how it was 4% in 12 hours not using the phone at all with Wi-Fi and cellular and data on is great much better than the 12% drop I was getting in 6-7 hours overnight before I tried this.

I turned off screen time also, it’s not something I need anyway.

I also just checked my battery health - it’s at 99%, clearly not a big issue but surprising for a phone which is 2 weeks old.

Your device needs to be exchanged. No way the battery health should not be at 100%. I am a heavy user and my X after a year still had 100%. Your XS or XS MAX should be 100%.

My battery is still 100% on my XS, your Phone definitely needs to be replaced, my old 7 was at 94% at just over two years old. Well my phone after 24 hours was is at 88% this morning a big difference since i reset screen time and rebooted the phone. Admittedly I did not use it much, a slow Sunday but the drain was there before when it was doing nothing, it would drop that 12% in a night not a whole day. Has to be a software bug with something. Also I seem to have lost the odd pale blue bars that kept saying no reading was available between certain hours that kept appearing.

Hi all, I’ve had the iPhone XS for the past two days and have noticed the battery draining faster than my 7. I’ve had around4-4.5 hours of screen time and the battery is down to 39 percent. Is this normal? Here is my usage graph, thanks!i will note I’ve had only 2 bars of service and no WiFi during this time.
This is happening with me also battery drain a lot in iphone xs
