Go to location services and you will see the Appstore is using location services. If you toggle the "never use" it doesn't matter it still stays on.

Ok - but it's not killing my battery life anymore.

First day or two, it was roughly 50% of my battery usage. Last 24 hours its at 2%.

Mostly because I was downloading all kinds of apps - I couldn't care less about the location services being on so long as it doesn't kill battery, which is doesn't seem to.

For me not only was my battery dropping like 1% every minute but my phone was running hot. Also when I connected my charger the battery percentage did not budge 1% being on the charger for 35 minutes.

Hmm ya that's different than what I've experienced. My phone was running hot but I was doing a lot of downloading of various apps. Runs hot while on charger too, but it does charge (unless the battery indicator is lying - which I think its off at times).

I definitely have worse battery performance than iOS 7. It's not shocking, but definitely worse.

For being the first beta, battery life is pretty damn good. Actually, it's just pretty good in general.

No real complaints from me.

....to be fair - my battery does the same exact thing and I'm still using iOS 7 (not using the iOS 8 Beta but keeping an eye on these forums to see how it shapes up!).

I'll charge my phone and when its between 50% and 100%, the battery drains really slowly (especially when its between 90% and 100%) - I'll typically get about 2 days usage out of it.

However, as soon as it dips below 50%, the battery then starts to drain really fast - I can see my phone drop from 50% in the morning, to anything less than 30% by the end of the day. I know that the day my phone goes lower than 50%, its gonna drain so fast that it will require a re-charge that same day.

On ios 7 I would finish the day with 30-40% battery left on one charge. Now I charge up to full twice during the day to and still end up at 10% battery by bed time.

It's actually not terrible for a beta, and it's been improving for me since I first installed iOS 8. Still not nearly as good as iOS 7, but improving.

4S 28% with only 2hrs of usage with 7.1.1 I was getting around 4.5-5 hours before it died.

This is a SOLID beta. The battery life is unbelievable. To be fair, I was connected to WiFi 95% of the day. I'm on an iPhone 5S.
