Hey, i switched from 12 Mini to 13 Mini and i got nearly same result
About 1h30 for 83%
About 2h00 for 75%
About 2h20 for 65%
I would expect a bit more, my 12 Mini 1 years old (90% of battery health) has nearly same result
I constantly lose battery life at idle/standby, i think around 1% per hour
App in the background is off, brightness/display auto, mail push off (1 hour), notification for social network/messages only, network on 4G since i dont have 5G.
Nothing too fancy or agressive as settings but still some drain at idle/standby, even though, i expected 13 Mini would last longer than 12 Mini which isnt really the case for now (i got my 13 Mini since two days, maybe its still indexing or something like this?)
What is your battery life on your 13 Mini? And your own settings to share?

Maybe @prazakj would like to give us a feedback. I'm 50/50 between regular 13 and 13 mini. I prefer the 13 mini size hands down, but the battery of my current 12 mini makes want something that last all day long without having to worry at 7pm

I have a 12 Mini and am strongly considering upgrading to the 13 Mini because my battery is down to 85% and it affects me usage when I am working. I am also thinking about getting the MagSafe battery pack for the 12 Mini which should solve the issue and save me a lot of money as I cannot fully justify selling my current phone for £350 and spending £675 plus a £50 case just for a marginal update.

A lot of the excessive battery drain is because of iOS 15. It’s a power hog.

I'm on iOS 15.3.1 and for me iOS is the same as its always been. Both of these test are with everything on (background refresh, wifi, bt, all location services, air drop, Find My sharing my location with a bunch of people, AirTag, HomeKit, etc etc)

iPhone 11 Pro Max iOS 15.3.1 running Geekbench 5 CPU benchmark. 8.89 watts

iPhone 11 Pro Max iOS 15.3.1 locked/asleep. .04 watts

The max usage still maxes out the discharge rate like it always has, and the minimum is about as low as it can realistically be.

I'll concede and say I don't have a way to average overtime which would be much more useful but the locked/asleep is capable of being as low as it was on any version of iOS. Also keep in mind its wireless sending this data to my MacBook so its not really "asleep".

Something interesting you can notice in those pictures. When the Geekbench 5 benchmark is running the load on the battery is pulling down the voltage about .250 volts which reduces the full capacity about 130mAh just during the benchmark. Just goes to show the amount of guess work to put an actual percentage next to "battery health" makes it questionable at best.

Something else interesting. The benchmark score was 11% higher in multi-core today on iOS 15.3.1 then it was on iOS 13.4..So technically iOS 15.3.1 is using LESS power for me. 13.4 on left, 15.3.1 on right.

Well, it depends on what do you expect from iPhone 13 mini. It lasts me much longer than 12 mini, to be absolutely sure. I have around 60% around 17:00 on my busy days, 75% on lighter ones. It depends how much I use my phone during the day. But if I was sad while using 12 mini, I’m quite happy with 13 mini. Regular 13 can lasts me almost 1,5 days but I just don’t like to carry around with me because of it’s size and I’m feeling little nervous with handling it on the street as I always need both hands (only unlocking is fine with me with one hand). And when it will be problem for me in future I just buy MagSafe Battery Pack or replace the battery. It’s just great to have a capable phone which doesn’t drag my pants down. I hate that on my XS.

I am getting 7 plus hours of screen on time with standard use, texts, you tube on Wi-Fi, reading books, safari use, news app the odd call or photo. Over an 18 hour day on 4g with 20 % left at midnight. Seems pretty good to me but it’s winter and my screen brightness remains fairly low.

April 3rd-9th

LTE and Wi-Fi (when home). I make it thru the day and actually today, unplugged at 100% 8:30am, currently at 56%. Each day can be different but it’s been the same with my avg week screen on time, 8hr mark.

The standby time is how it should be, and I don’t have battery anxiety. I did get the MagSafe battery back on Friday but I know I won’t use it like I thought, well only on long hangout days I guess.

I have a charger in my car to, so that helps. Coming from the 13 Pro Max, the mini has been worth it, especially with practicing being a minimalist. Not a launch day purchase but actually back on April 1st, the mini that is.

I’m impressed with the battery life of the 13 mini. I’ve moved across from a launch day iPhone X with just over 1200 cycles on it which I was charging twice a day. I’m currently charging the mini every 3 days, although my average screen on time is 1.5-2 hours a day.
So for light users, there are no battery worries. I think a pro max would get me a week of usage.

every 3 days on the mini is wild. good on you lol.

i had a 12 mini and the 13 mini has treated me way better in the battery department. it almost always gets me through a full day without an additional charge.

When you moved to the new phone, did you restore from a back-up or set-up as new?

The cellular on 13mini sucks up battery like crazy.

I've got both new at the same time and 13 mini holds 2 hr more.
Usually 12 mini would give 4.5-5.5 hrs of screen on time on average. I was quite surprised to get 6.5-7.5 hrs with 13 mini.
At the same time, I liked 12 mini after SE 2020, cause 12 mini holds 1-1.5 hr more than SE did.

I can't talk about 13 mini itself, but after having 12 mini 1 year I switched to an 11 pro and then I realized how bad the battery life was on 12 mini.
