Writing “Tim Cook” doesn’t actually GO to Tim Cook. There’s a whole department that gets and handles those emails. So WWDC & CEO transition aren’t going to be factors.

That said - this department is going to look at your case and decide if the situation is “abnormal” or not. As discussed earlier, a week isn’t abnormal; a month is; in between is up for negotiation. So yeah, I’d hold off a few more days but if there is still no movement into next week - I’d say it’s worth a try.
Hey, I sent Tim Cook an email about a really rude Apple Store lead. She kicked me out of the store without any reason, and after I emailed Tim, Apple Corporate Retail Executive Relations called me back the morning after I emailed. It’s usually from the Austin, Texas Apple HQ. For example, if it’s about Apple Store issues like mine, the executive assistants pass your email along to the right department, Retail Executive Relations . But if it’s about the Genius Bar or AppleCare, it’s handled by the company’s AppleCare execs.

Hi CR,

Thank you for writing and please let me know when you get your watch back. As for now, I am at 11 days and counting and still am in "Your replacement product will be shipped to you soon" status.

Don
Has  called you back bout it? Make sure to have silence unknown callers off or only have the call screening on so you can know if they call back

It is 7 days since Apple reported to me that they "would be shipping my replacement watch soon". I called Apple technical support and explained the situation. They called the Apple Store then told me that they were waiting for a replacement. I told the Apple representative the things I have mentioned in the this post and got the usual "I understand your frustration and that they would report my concerns up the chain of command." Do they understand my frustration? No! Will expressing my concerns up the chain of command do any good. No!

Long gone are the days where Apple was throwing sledge hammers through glass walls and telling people to "Think Different". They have become a Leviathan. But you can still stick it to the man. I went out a purchased a Watch Ultra 3 from Costco where I have 90 days to return. Hopefully, Apple get can my watch back to me during this time.
I understand your frustration, but your solution there is sticking it to a different man. Apple products you buy from Costco aren’t owned by Apple. Costco eats that return whenever you eventually do it.

They palletize apple returns at their return center and sell them as bulk apple returns at a pallet auction site.

My wife and I have always had AppleCare+. The advantage we’ve seen is - walking into an Apple Store we usually walk out with a replacement device within a very short period of time.

That is a long time to wait for an Apple Watch. I might just keep my current Apple Watch instead of getting a $260 turn in credit as a backup if that was the case. I do wear mine 24/7 tho and use it a lot.

One time my wife ended up without an Apple Watch for close to a month because the replacement watch was stollen and the packaged never showed up at our front door. Had to deal with FedeEx, allow for them to investigate, and then report the results of the investigation to Apple, only for Apple to wait and do nothing for another 1-2 weeks before finally deciding to send the 2nd replacement watch.
Both of our Apple Watches will soon be up for battery service (currently at 81% and 84%) but the previous experience left a scar and now I dont know if I want to chance it again.

Twelve days to replace the watch. It was replaced with another Series 8.
Dang it. My series 6 may be coming to its point soon to get a battery replacement. I hope they give me an 11 tatty 😂

You can’t just walk into an Apple Store and get a replacement on the spot? (I believe they replace with a refurbished unit - they don’t actually replace the battery).

I would never mail an Apple Product - based on the stories I’ve heard…

This is motivation to keep my AWU3 till I hit 79%! Nice!

Honestly, there’s always an Apple Store that’s about 2-3 cities away from me in California, so I usually just pop over there to get it done. I’m not too keen on mailing it in because I want to be accountable, cover the postage, and it takes forever to get back to me. I’d much rather just get one and done in the spot, like I did with my AirPods Pro 3 that had that crackling sound.

Same here. I’ve had my AW S6 since May 2024.

As someone who has watched battery capacities for a long time now (coconutBattery and actual Apple Analytic log files (which coconutBattery reads)) - it’s not an exact science. But going from 84% to 87% - you don’t see that everyday.

I think similar to EV batteries, that study that found constant recharging (brake regen) and high drain (flooring it) actually had a health benefit long term - <shrug> who knows. Maybe the recent upgrade cleared up some aging.

Calibration can be a factor. Or running a beta.
It is probably the calibration thing cause I am not running any betas on this watch (never did) and from what I understand, there won't be any major watchOS's available for Series 8 as anything below Series 9 got cut off from watchOS27.

If I recall correctly, this is probably the first time that I am planning to use an Apple device for prolonged time that won't be running the current major version of OS. There is nothing enticing in the latest Apple Watches hardware for me to consider spending $800 (I am SS person), so I am hoping that my current S8 will likely continue to serve me for several more years until S15 or something arrives.

My series 6 may be hitting its time to replace soon.

It may arrive in Apple vintage list next month or in October, as this watch was released like during pandemic but it may hit 5 years since it got discontinued.

But anyone with older series 6 or earlier stainless steel, titanium edition or series 5 ceramic users did a switch out of their Apple Watch for battery replacement at Apple Store and ended up getting a replacement that’s a few series’s higher than the original one since Apple ain’t had the original model of the same series and material? I asked Siri AI about it and it suggested it may happen given series 6 is hitting vintage list in the future
