This any good for a 6 Plus?

First discharge after unboxing.

I've been quite relentless with it and often using my 4G connection out of sheer novelty.

Also if someone could tell me how to get full sized screenshots that would be great! Are you uploading directly from your device?

No one wants to take on the question of how iphone and Android's measurements systems translate to each other?

For example, if an Android user gets 16 hours standby and 5 hours of "screen time on", what numbers would that same user see if he used an iphone?

The 6 Plus is highly praised for its battery life but It's hard to compare with android devices.

What is the average screen on time acheived by 6 plus users?

Without screen on time there is no comparison possible. Screen on time is the single overriding factor determining battery life under typical and non cpu intensive gaming use.

I see many iphone users posting their screen shots of usage. It is just an exercise in futility. I see results that vary so much in usage time which immediate tells you the usage time figure is nonsense and useless. How can the same phones coming out from the same factory with the same level of QC can vary so much. Don't blame the phone or user but the garbage usage time given by ios.

Has anyone else wondered why it seems like only about 1 out of 10 people here use their iPhone 6 or 6+ as an actual phone? With some people the phone app doesn't even show as a blip on the screen shots.

I used 10% of my battery today making phone calls (another 10% for web browsing and another 10% for home and lock screen, with about 20% for mail and another 20% for reading nook ebooks. 12 other apps accounted for the other 30%.)

I'm still getting 9-10 hours of use over an 18 hour period from my iPhone 6 or 10-12 hours from my 6+. Here is my best from my 6+

I rarely talk on my iPhone.

i think "screen on time" on iP6 5-6 hours iP6+ 7-8 hours ..

apps and music put more hours on USAGE ..

Does having the parallax on REALLY impact battery life? I kind of like the animations, but if its a contributing reason why my 6 Plus is a tad skimp on the battery life then I will cut it off. Took my plus off the charger at roughly 9AM and Im already down to 22% at 2:49PM. Im combing through all my settings to see what I need to switch off. Last resort is me going to an apple store (there is one 2 hours away from me :( ) for the battery being faulty. So I'm going through every setting to toggle stuff off lol.

guys quick question... with all this talk about battery life, what are the steps to keep battery life healthy?! i.e. drain down or charge around 60% usage etc?

It's hard to say.

For instance, I have been sat browsing the web for 6-7 hours before with texts inbetween and the odd call.

I got 8 hrs "usage". I know for certain that would have been a good 6 hours screen time. I had about 10% battery left.

It really depends on what you are doing with the phone.

Turn off Parallax and background refresh.

Then give it another day to see where you get. Compare results, then re-enable Parallax.

Background refresh is the biggest culprit. You don't need it really.

This is my usage. I restored iOS 8.1. No backup of my old phone. WiFi/3G mixed.Whats your comments?

Model: iPhone 6 64 GB
Usage: 7 hours 40 minutes
Standby: 1 day 1 hour

This is from yesterday. I played quite a few games and was on my phone a lot with everything turned on. I was very impressed to see how well it did. I purchased the phone on Friday and yesterday was my toying around and setting it up day.

does imessage use up a lot of the battery fast or is it just me ? I'm using 3G when typing on imessage and seemed to use up 20 % battery life in an hour

and my battery?

Hi all,
I have an iphone 6 64Gb with 8.1 s/w and I have reached only 5h40min of usage (from 100% down to 4%) with 3days and half stby with most 4g + LTE use for safari, mail, and calls, some of them with bluetooth car handset (screen brightness at 40% auto-brightness ON, with localisation ON and app background OFF). Is this scary? I do not reach the figures in this thread but I have recorded the longest stby time...does this compensate?
When connected to safari with 4g I loose about 1% in 3-4min and 1% in 4-5 min with wifi on. What is your battery discharge rate when surfing with safari either in 4g or with wifi ? Do you note similar rates to mine?On the other hand, when playing with the phone, e.g. to change settings or when jumping through app the discharge rate is around 1% every 5min.
NOTEs:
- apple ran the diagnostics on my iphone (apple care on the phone) and No Fault Found on the battery;
- I always fully charge the battery from 0% / fully depleted condition.

Thanks a lot

Depends on how you use iMessage. I'm in a group message that goes non stop with pics and videos. It generally uses the majority of my battery.

agreed, I can get anywhere from 7-10 hours of "usage"

7 hours is when I dont listen to music

10 hours is when I listen to music

essentially listening to music gets hours of "usage" without using to much battery

I don't know how you guys are getting such good or great usage but I barely get more than 6 hours of "on screen time" on my 6+. But I really do use it basically non stop for 6 hours. It'll be like 6 hours of usage and like 8 hours standby only.

Here's my BS screenshot. All on wifi, Instagram maybe 3-4 hours, and maybe 8 hours of pandora with screen off, and 2-3 hours of reddit. That's mostly it. No gps, no lte. It's probaly similar to how some people use as normal usage, but with another app instead of Instagram. But my normal usage has to include maps and lte and more screen on time, which gets me 6-9 hours.

People that like to show off or actually don't use their phone that much. it's possible to get those ridiculous times, but also probably by people who really just use it like a phone. See my post above.

Another run I screenshoted couple days ago. Pretty good for an phone with 1800 mAh battery. My previous galaxy s4 has an 2600mAh and it doesnt last as long as my iphone.

May i just insist into requesting you, please, to assess how long it takes to your battery to loose 1% when surfing even when looking at this thread? I would like to understand whether or not mine, which takes 4 min for 1 % under wifi connection, is sick or not. Thank for your kind help.
For info: app background refresh off and brightness at 40 to 50.
Cheers.
