Does it really matter if you restore from iCloud or iTunes? Been reading around that iTunes is more likely to be corrutped and iCloud should be "cleaner". Or is it the same old "an update is coming to fix the issues" yadda yadda..

I personally don't think that it matters, though I would always prefer an iTunes backup and restore, since you may never know if you lose Internet connectivity while the device is downloading the iCloud backup. iTunes should be more reliable, just in case.

6plus 8.1 jailbroken

Usage is high maybe because it was unplugged before I slept?

Apparently so, ...I remember the usage being 22 minutes before I dozed off. It then went up to 2 and something hours when I checked in the morning.

The only usage that I remember in between is the one time that I snoozed the alarm.

Ok I'm having the same issue. I'm starting to believe its a jailbreak issue. I would go to sleep with 100% and wake up at like 88%. My usage would be something crazy like 2 hours or more but I hadn't touched the phone. I removed the jailbreak today to see how it fairs tonight. I'll keep you posted

Anyone else experiencing a lot of usage overnight? My iPhone 6 lost 12% overnight last night and there is no reason why. I do not have anything running in the background. My phone was connected to wifi and do not disturb was on. I received 4 iMessages. My usage stated 1 Hour, 45 minutes but I hadn't been on the phone. This seems to happen every night.

My iPhone only drains about 2-3% overnight even with a jailbreak. I don't put it in airplane mode or do not disturb either. I just leave it on the same settings day and night.

Way back when I had an iPhone 4s my iPhone would also drain at about 3-4% overnight. However once I did the email push trick of setting up mail to use Google Gmail via Microsoft ActiveSync, my iPhone then drained about 15+ % overnight.

I don't really see having usage overnight as an issue for my phone. Battery level was @ 100% the night before and still @ 100% when I woke up but with 2+ hours of usage.

"If background app refresh is turned on, your phone will register some usage even if you aren't actively using the phone."

-So do apps still "refresh" even if there are no apps running in the background? I asked because I kill all apps before going to sleep but still gain usage.

Even with a jailbreak, I lose between 2-4% overnight (DND on, of course). I have quite a few tweaks installed as well. Though it's been a while since I checked my overnight numbers.

My iPhone 6 drains a good 10+% every night, even on airplane mode, if it's not plugged in and I don't know why. I haven't checked the usage times before and after going to sleep for the night, however. Phone isn't jailbroken, hasn't ever been jailbroken. It's even set to manual for mail, background refresh is off, location services are only on for two apps, apples stock weather app and yahoo weather. Brightness is 30%. Can't manage more than like 6 hours on a charge. Phone tends to get a little warm at times.

Kinda annoying since my iPad will go from 100% to 98% or so overnight. Amazing standby times.

I will probably try a restore and see how it goes. Do iTunes or iCloud backups preserve app data? Just kind of curious before I get myself into restoring and such...

Went to the Apple Store a couple weeks ago to check the health of my battery and they said it was good. So I did a restore and set up as new and now i'm starting to see the battery jumps like old iPhone 5 issue. Just did a restore so i'll see what happens. This is really irritating, I just went through manually moving everything over since it was set up as new . My two week old back can't possibly be corrupted that fast.

Battery drain fixed. I removed the jailbreak and got this.
Right before I went to sleep

And when I woke up

I believe the problem was a process on jailbreak named locationd which was taking up around 15% of my battery usage. The only way to see this process was installing the tweak DetailedBatteryUsage. I didn't have too many tweaks installed and none of them were considered ones to drain. It seems that I have fixed the issue although I had to give up my jailbreak. I can live without it lol

Yes both backups keep app data. It sounds like you may want to take your phone to the apple store tho

Locationd should be the location daemon.
Have you turned system services off under location services?
I only keep find my iPhone checked for using gps and all others are of from system services, couple apps are allowed to use only while in use.

Yea I have everything off except the find my iPhone toggle. I don't use location services anyway. Its always off but the location daemon was always in use for some odd reason

Not sure where I got my percentages. Must've been shortly after I got my 6+ and before the jailbreak came out. I lost 7%. Definitely not ditching the jailbreak because of that.

Hey guys sooo is this normal? Or a new record!

Device: iPhone 6

Hah, sometimes uneventful weekends are good for the soul.

You're on track there for about 7.5 hours of usage. The record was a few pages ago by a guy with an iPhone 6 Plus. He had over 20 hours... which is crazy good.

At least I don't think I've seen anything over 20 hours use in this thread.

Standby time I think the most we've seen is about 3 days.
