I just bought the iPhone 7 plus silver 128gb 2 days ago. I'm not really impressed with the battery. Do I still to wait for a week to have a good battery life with my iphone?

Thanks
I have a pebble time so the bluetooth is turned on always.

My 7 plus battery is at 50% whereas my 6 plus would've been at about 25% by this time of the day. And the 6 plus was brand new 6 months ago. So much better!

Always give the phone 5-7 days to bed in. Otherwise take it back to apple to take a look.
Thanks, I was wondering why my iphone is draining a bit fast.

Might be more software than your new phone. Battery life isn't as amazing as normal on my 6s plus. Still gets me through most of the day thougnh

I'm only getting 2-3 hours use. 8-10hrs standby and 20-25% battery...

This afternoon seems a little better...

1hr 10min usage
4hr 22min standby

65% battery...

I have a Genius Bar appointment later tonight. I'll see what they say about it.

I gave up on my 7 and went with a 7 plus.
The drain on the 7 was so fast compared with my 6 plus. Anyway my 7 plus seems to be similar to the 6 plus... basically heavy usage all day without the need to plug it in.

I was about to change from 6 plus to iphone 7 but i know ill just change to iphone 7 plus cuz of the battery life.

Some battery related details here.

Good to hear. I'm on day 4 with bad battery still though. But... Apple Care has had reset and recover the iPhone a few times over the past two days. So I have not went more than 1 1/2 days on a single setup if you will. Apple has also never mentioned to me to just wait and see, they tell me to call back the next day, make a Genius Bar appointment... so I see them here soon and I'll see what they say.

Man I'm jealous of these times lol. My 6S would give me ~6 hours of screen time, my 7 gave me about 6.5-7 hours. Tomorrow will be the first full day for my 7 Plus and I'm hoping for 8 hours of screen on time. How you guys pull 10 hours on a 7 blows my mind lol

I personally use it normally, lots of web browsing, music, some social media, lots of messages/whatsapp/emails, light gaming and some youtube videos when i commute plus usual stuff like checking weather, calendar, etc once a day

Did yours drain over night? How much?y 7 drains 20 per night. Considering switch as well

Don't base it on screen on time , base it on usage. That only works for android because iOS seems to include the 24hr use of use of the SOT. I'm an android user before, it is really different. Base it on usage.

I had a 6S+ and always had decent battery life: 10 to 13 hours of usage.

Updated to iOS 10 and the 6S+ battery life went south: down to 8 hours of usage.

Got a 7+ and initially I wasn't seeing any improvement over the 6S+ battery life.

Couple of things that worked for me. When I set up the 7+, I did it as new. I customized the background app refresh settings, leaving a few on, but most off. Still less than expected battery life. I went back in, and it seems that iOS 10 reverted back to all apps "on" in the background app refresh. (This seems to be a glitch as I have seen the same on my iPad: even though I customized the apps I wanted to use background app refresh, they all turned on again.)

Still less than expected battery life. I use Purify - so I turned off the background refresh for it, and also the stock weather app. Since doing that, the 7+ is now performing better than 6s+ was before going to iOS 10.

So long story short, check out your background app refresh. There may be an app or two in there to experiment with. Seems to have worked in my case.

They probably have brightness turned down and limited app background refresh activity.

This has been the norm for my 7 since Friday. I have done a full die down then full recharge every day before touching it. Still not as impressive as I thought. After my die down yesterday, when I plugged my charger in I got the iTunes restore screen. Took a reboot to get it going again. Phone is hot while charging as well. I chgarge with LPM and Airplane On using a 12W iPad brick.

Downloading 10.0.1 and starting from scratch...this was a restore from my 6S+ which in all fairness was jailbroken on 9.3.3, shift+updated to 9.3.5 and OTA updated to the 10.0.1 GM.

In my case, and I'll refer to the 6S+ before iOS 10: brightness not turned down. Background app refresh just for stuff I need that happening for: runkeeper, weather, waze, so a handful of apps. Bluetooth always on: I have an Apple Watch, and use Bluetooth headphones. Wifi on when connected otherwise off. Location services for most things, but set to "while using" as opposed to always where that makes sense. Consistent 10 to 13 hours on the 6S+

I think I'll have to take my 7+ Back as the standby drain is terrible. I'm losing between 8 and 10% battery in Airplane mode with WiFi enabled over night. The SIM card isn't even in my 7+ as I don't have a screen protector yet so I'm still using my S7E but even the edge doesn't drain 10% over night and it's notorious for excessive standby drain.

Even checking the battery usage doesn't show any suspicious behaviour except for the Settings app which was on for 34 minutes in background.
