I think I'll have to take my 7+ Back as the standby drain is terrible. I'm losing between 8 and 10% battery in Airplane mode with WiFi enabled over night. The SIM card isn't even in my 7+ as I don't have a screen protector yet so I'm still using my S7E but even the edge doesn't drain 10% over night and it's notorious for excessive standby drain.

Even checking the battery usage doesn't show any suspicious behaviour except for the Settings app which was on for 34 minutes in background.

That doesn't seem right at all. So as an example on my 7+ since I adjusted the background app refresh of a few apps on a hunch - last night: I had the phone plugged in late evening. Took off. Used to was at 98% when I went to sleep. No airplane mode. I have do not disturb scheduled from 1AM to 5.15AM. When I woke, phone was at 96%. Have you installed apps? Are you updated to 10.0.1?

The very first day I picked up my 7+, I fully charged it and used it without updating to iOS 10.0.1. The first full charge seemed to last quite a long time,

That night, I updated the 7+ to 10.0.1 and the next day the battery life was already way worse and draining excessively. The weekend then passed and I hadn't purchased a screen protector so I swapped my SIM card back into my S7E and left the iPhone at home. That's when I began to notice the excessive standby drain on my iPhone 7+. Yesterday I adjusted the background refresh for a bunch of apps and tested it over night and it still drained 8% and that's without maintaining a cell signal as it's in Airplane mode. Even leaving it at home for roughly 5 hours from 100% drains it to 95% and as soon as I turn the screen on and begin to use it, it drops to 94/93 very quickly.

So I had mine charged up to 100. Took it off, been using it for an hour and a bit off the charger for an hour and a half now. Fairly intense use, bluetooth headphones connected, calls etc.

That's the kind of battery life I was expecting. I think I should go and get my phone exchanged then as right now the battery life is pretty poor and the standby drain is way worse than my S7E which is notorious for poor standby drain.

iPhone 7plus poor battery life , mail is at 42% i don't know why ,before I have a 6plus there was between 8 and 10% and I have no more emails as before, the settings are same

I just bought the iPhone 7 plus silver 128gb 2 days ago. I'm not really impressed with the battery. Do I still to wait for a week to have a good battery life with my iphone?

Thanks
I have a pebble time so the bluetooth is turned on always.

Define good battery life. I have an Apple Watch connected to my 7+ all day and I get 10-12 hours/day with 25% battery left over.

Take it to store and let them look.

Probably they will erase and restore so backup before you go.

They wont exchange the phone w/o doing tests and restore first.

Seems quite good. Hope to get the same results. Got mine today, so today won't be representative at all.

So I went to the Genius Bar yesterday. Like I thought they said nothing is wrong with my phone. The fact that I had 25% battery with 2.5hrs usage and 9hrs standby wasn't alarming to them at all.

Apple Care had me reset and restore, set as new, blah blah blah... the previous two days. So I never went more than a day without resetting and changing stuff.

I'm going to just let it be for a week and see what happens. The Genius Bar said to come back if it doesn't change in a week. So we'll see.

Why not just swap it or you have that 14 day return period anymore?.

He even said they didn't have any in stock. But that has crossed my mind. I'll give it a few days and see how it gets.
I have the silver iphone plus. Eventually ill swap it with jet black or matt black within 14 days and also worried about the hissing noise. Good luck man

I posted in another thread before about the battery life, which is amazing in my experience so far. On a 95% charge I've managed about 6 hours usage and 9 hours standby and I'm at 39% on my iPhone 7+. I can't see exact timings because I haven't even fully charged yet since purchasing yesterday.

A few things to remember; Once all of the stuff is restored, the phone will do things in the background such as indexing. For the first day or maybe two your phone will be indexing or re-indexing all of your data i.e. music, images (especially for that new image search functionality), spotlight search, etc. - whilst there's no source for this, I did ask at the Genius bar last year and he confirmed that our phones will indeed need to index (or re-index, whatever).

It has been 5 days for me since I set up my iPhone 7+. I also set it up as a new device and it has literally nothing on it except a few apps and some pictures. There is nothing for it to index and even in Airplane mode it still drains like mad.

Regardless of the above, Apple can either replace it for me on the spot or I will just flat out return it. I'm not going to run around in circles with them restoring and restarting when I have already done that myself and there was no change.

I got the Europe models.

Both my 7 and 7+ got great battery life overall but they drain 20% every night (almost everything deactivated push, background updates etc). My 6s plus only drain a few percentages! Any ideas? :(

They probably have brightness turned down and limited app background refresh activity.

On my 6s Plus I have auto brightness and background activity on for only a couple of apps (messaging app mostly), and I usually reach home at 6pm with around 50% of battery and 4.5 hours of usage. My usage is mostly messaging, email, lot of web surfing, music, some youtube videos and light gaming. I use it mainly when I commute. If I go heavy with games and GPS (maps) I usually end the day at 20%.

I was thinking of switching to the 7 but, at this point, I think batter will not last the full day.
