Sorry Rafty, i did further testing...I watched a 2 hour clip on wifi...and then drained 42% of my battery...is that normal, poor, or ok?

Honestly, I think that's not too bad. It suggests that your overall battery would last through a 5 hour video clip, which seems reasonable to me! What do you have your brightness set to?

Usage and Standby times the same

In the last couple of weeks my 4s has really been draining the battery fast. I only use the phone for 3-4 hours mainly on wifi for Twitter, FB, news, etc. Most of the time very few phone calls. I just noticed under the usage it shows exactly the same for Usage & Standby Times - currently 12 Hours, 18 minutes for both with 3% battery power left. Earlier tonight I turned the phone off when it had 26% power left, when I turned it on again after 2 hours it only had 16% left - 10% in two hours turned off.

Any solutions?

Hello. Force quit all running apps, full power down iPhone and re start.

My launch day iPhone had an awesome battery life, sadly I accidentally went for a swim in the sea with it, may it rest in peace :(

Anyway my replacement 4S has noticeably worse battery life even though all my settings are exactly the same. I have come to the conclusion that I will just have to live with it until the iPhone 5 as there seems to be no good reason for it to be any different.

Its a re-manufactured unit so maybe the battery had been heavily used in another phone. Also even though these units apparently have new glass mine doesnt feel like it has the oleophobic coating applied to it and I noticed there was no plastic films covering the glass when he took it out of the box.

Dude, same thing happened to me, I had to get a replacement because the camera broke on my old one. The replacement battery was not as good as the original one. Also the screen was rougher, like not as smooth. I just couldnt live with it, so sold it on ebay for a $30 loss, and bought a new one from Apple. The new one is great, im at 72% after 3.5 days of Edge standby (I am purposefully not using it so I can test standby, and so far its doing great). Im happy now, even though I basically had to pay $30 for a defective camera from the original phone.

Pretty crap in London as well mate.

I've had times where i've had full signal in St. Pauls yet couldn't do anything such as send an MMS or check in via foursquare.

And on the other end of the scale i was on Oxford Street with no signal what so ever!

O2 = *****!

I've had the opposite experience to you then with regards to o2 in London. I find they're the only ones where I can get decent coverage inside buildings. And a consistent data connection above 3mbps. I've been with Voda and Orange and they were shocking! Especially in Canary Wharf where I work!

I should have said pretty crap on occasions.

Decent coverage inside buildings i do agree on but on a weekly basis O2 3G does let me down one way or another.

Following you on Twitter now mate.

Funny that it doesn't work on Oxford Street, because their coverage in the city of Oxford is absolutely horrible!
