Unplugged at 815am just does recently. No wifi use, push mail, location on, 50% brightness. Not bad IMO. Plenty of games, YouTube, Internet, tapatalk, app store etc.

Yep, assuming a decent mixture of usage that's pretty good I'd think. I am curious what the deal is with your screenshot? I sAw one looking similar earlier with cloud data not there. Problems loading or Do you have iCloud turned off, if so that might change how I'd feel about the results.

Noticed my battery was rapidly draining this morning, at 96%, i did a hard reset, and when the phone restarted, the indicator was back at 99%.

Ive deleted my mail accounts, and am charging back to 100%...

Mines now at 1% with 13 hours 43 minutes Usage and 23 Hours and 41 Minutes of standby.

That sounds great except: It came off charge 11pm 2 days ago, it sat there doing nothing till 8am and dropped 10% and racked up 30 minutes usage.

Last night it was 8 hours 34 minutes usage and 13 hours and 53 minutes standby with 26% battery remaining at 11pm.

How can it have racked up 5 hours of usage and 25% battery lost while I'm asleep?

I've turned just about everything off at some point and it makes no difference. I think I'll DFU restore it today and leave it at factory and see if I get an overnight drop tonight.

Can someone point me to a good guide on how to DFU restore to stock apple firmware?

Temped to return it and get a 4 again, but I find Siri so useful as I spend a lot of time driving.

Since calibrating the battery twice and deleting my two exchange accounts my battery life has vastly improved, i am currently on 34% with 1 day and 10 hours standby with 4 and a half hours. before i would get about 2 hours usage and 8 hours standby before my battery was completely flat.

i have turned off location services bar a few apps turned off all of system service locations except mobile network, screen brightness 30% auto, deleted the facebook and find friends app, and icloud is on manual for contacts turned everything else off, icloud backup still on though. hope this helps somebody

So the more you guys are using the battery the better it has become? no surprise here....since I got my 4 last dec the battery life got better as time went by...

My Iphone 4 on iOS5 (beta 7 and GM) was amazing for battery life. Easily getting 6-7 hours usage as well.

I am not having huge problems myself (getting about 5-6 hours usage with all my stuff turned on, only got system services and ping disabled) but it just doesn't quite go the day.

I have done a restore and setup as new just for the hell of it, see if I can get it to go a little further. I never needed to plug in my iphone 4 at the end of the day. my 4S WILL need a charge to get through if I hammer it during the day (but just as much as the iP4 I had)

I have a question. I recently Let my battery completely die, then charged it back up. Now, every time I charge it up again, it only goes up to 93 or 94%. I notice this as soon as I unplug it after the night. But if I then plug it right back in, it will charge back up to 100. This happening to anyone else? Was it a mistake to let it die completely?

This is happening to me as well and it is a little concerning. I leave it charging all night and I wake up to 97% battery with the plug icon.

Did you let it die completely also? The only reason I ask is because mine did not act this way beforehand.

I've been averaging 6 hours of usage and 10 standby. That's gaming, messaging, Internet, news apps, music, video and streaming video from my Sling. Wifi and 3G mixed.
iCloud is deleted. Brightness at 59%. Most system notifications off. Siri raise to talk is off. Exchange is set to fetch every 30 minutes.
I've deleted and re-setup my exchange account. I also noticed diagnostic errors for Facebook, Beatthetraffic and Endgadget so I deleted and reinstalled them.

I have no idea if these are good usage numbers or not. I'm coming from a 3rd gen Touch. I used my Touch backup to setup my iPhone. I may do a fresh restore as new but I don't want to lose my game saves.

When I asked Siri to locate where I was, I noticed that a gray GPS arrow wouldn stay on after I closed Siri. The only way I could get it off was to restart the phone.

Is this normal?

Went to the apple store last night. Had my phone inspected. My hardware is apparently 100% functioning. My software was crashing a bit, and is corrupted. I was told to do a restore, and not use a backup. Today am testing the phone after a fresh restore. Although I've already noticed a couple of crashes and a low memory thingy of some sort. I also noticed that the new OS has a few changes from the one that came with the phone. Don't know exactly what, but going through settings, there are a few things missing, and a few things added.

Anybody notice that? Sounds silly, since it's supposedly the exact same thing.

It was probably monitoring your location for any further contextual quaries

I have been trying to not use my phone to see how good it gets, which one shouldn't have to do along with turning everything off.

down to 30% with

2 Hours, 46 Minutes usage
22 Hours, 21 Minutes standby

Charged my phone last night. Took it off the charger this morning, as soon as I took it off it went from 100% to 94%.

Literally as soon as it was off the charger. Very weird.

Same for me this morning.

reboot

I had a reboot so the actual data isn't available from my usage screen, but I've been tracking it with screen shots prior to the reboot.

currently, I'm at

4:30 OR MORE (I would guess it has to be 5:30 at least), this was the last check yesterday prior the the 'siri crash reboot'

And I am at 1 day 22 hours standby and have 27% left.

Now, I DID connect the device to my computer for 4:20 seconds, to sync my contacts but that can't have added too much juice. But it was something.

It SEEMS to be getting better each day, which is somewhat expected.

Could there be some sort of spotlight indexing going on?

Kinda frustrated that my 4S is only lasting 8 hours max.

I just formatted and started as a new iphone. Only activated iMessage, so I'll see how good it's gonna be today.
