Those who is looking for a good discount on rMBP, BB has $250 discount now, plus you can get additional $50 student discount. That bring it down to $2299.

I just found out, the base model rMPB also has $250 discount as well. Potentially get base model for $1699.

Just to be clear. I am not promoting BB or anything like that. I just want to spread the saving!

I'm in the market for rMBP 13 with 8GB ram and 256 GB. I'm so hoping some BF deals pop up for it.

Apple.com will price match this. I just ordered it that way

How did you get them to price match it?

I just called told them BB price they checked website and said no problem. I'm doing in store pickup

Just for general knowledge, I bought one of these from Apple and am still within the return period, so I called them and asked if they do retroactive price matching, and they were more than happy to do it!

I bought mine 3 weeks ago from the apple store. Do you think apple can do anything for me?

Would they be able to add the education discount on this and do the 16GB memory config on this pricing?

has anyone gotten them to take the $50 best buy education discount off as well? also, do they take off the applicable tax too?
do they refund you the amount to your credit card or is it an apple gift card?
think they'd be opposed to giving an apple gift card instead of refunding?

Thanks!

so i just called and asked if they would price match, and they said only up to 10%, aka they'd give it to me for $1799, not $1749, and certainly not with the $50 off for best buy education... disappointing

BH photo also has the base model for $1749, save on tax everywhere except NY

I didn't even ask about the $50 education discount (though my original MBP price did include my education discount). For me, they refunded $150 to my credit card, but they may do a gift card instead (and in fact may be more than happy to do that since it keeps the money with them).

Just did this yesterday. Returned my faulty refurb and went ahead and bought a new Mac instead. The savings made the huge purchase a little nicer.

Yep. I just called Apple. They said the same exact thing to me. Up to 10% off for 1799.

Was your order date Nov 1 or later? If so the return window for purchases goes into January.

If it was purchased prior to 11/1, then probably not. Worth a call though.

Thanks for the heads up on this! At first I was not going to do this since this is only $50 less than my EPP discount with Apple, but remembered I could get more cashback plus BB certs this way in addition to the $50 savings.

Discover Cashback: 5% + 5% holiday bonus going on right now = $234

myBest Buy points: 2349 for the purchase + 25% for being Elite Plus = 2936 or $55 myBest Buy certificate (this purchase should also put me over the top and extend my Elite Plus status).

If you do any shopping with Best Buy you should be a myBest Buy reward member. It's free and if you aren't doing it, you are potentially throwing money away.

Hopefully I get a screen as good as the one I got last week. If not, at least BB is closer to me for easy exchange.

best buy excludes laptops from shop discover if you read the fine print - sucks i know! you're probably better off buying from B&H to save on tax
