All I have to say is that Best Buy is super pleasant to deal with. The only caveat I have to add is that they are pleasant within reason. I was able to secure a macbook pro retina through their customer support line at an amazing deal. The total I ended up paying for the 2.3 model was $1970 all said and done. The entire order consisted of speaking to two agents and about 1.5 hours total.
Interaction 1: Was browsing Best Buy's website and saw a deal for $250 off on the retina 15" 2.3. Was instantly curious about pairing a price match with this deal, because I had a 170 dollar gift card to use. To my luck, the guy I spoke with added it out in a cart but became suspicious when he listed my price with the older 2013 model. I questioned him on this and he stated that he couldn't price match the other unit. I concluded the encounter by telling him I was going elsewhere.
Interaction 2: I talk to some lady about price matching apple's education pricing. She said it was no problem because there was a comment in my account for a price match. This unit was the 2.3 newer model that I wanted. I was happy at this point, but always wanted just a little more on this crazy ass deal. So I bugged her for the $50 off coupon, but she stated she couldn't use two promotional codes. I lied and claimed that the other guy I spoke with added it, but I wasn't too concerned about getting the $50 off; I was already getting such a deal...
At this point I am super excited and I give the lady my gift card #, and card # to purchase the item. I then have her write it so I could pick it up in Delaware, where I knew there were no sales taxes, not necessarily in that order.
In the end, saved 170 bucks on sales taxes and 450 on the actual computer. Was able to use my gift card, no problem, and left with a macbook pro retina 2.3 originally $2599 for less than 2 grand all said and done. Definitely happy with my purchase and had to share my experience. Cheers to those who made out the same way!
