In real
Like the other poster said, you definitely should check out the reviews from head-fi. They're generally very fair comments and ratings on head phones.
Personally i've had tried my friend's solo, returned the power beats and diddy beats, however currently owning the studios. I'll be honest, I like the studios because of the looks. I use them to "replace" my apple earbuds, but not as my entertainment headphones, so lets get that point clear.
IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, I can say don't buy anything under the beats studio cause the sound is very muddy. For soft music, you will even have greater problem hearing the different layers of sound... The studios are above them since the price is marked higher, however if your buying them for $350, i would say forget it... studios are not worth $350... I got them for $250 on boxing day and I think they're expensive for the quality.
The studios are really good in a way that I would only use them for gaming and deep bass music. Trance, club, R&B goes very well with the beats studio because of its bass accuracy, but it lacks in all categories when its playing other music. I also currently own a Sennheiser HD 558, I got them for a price of $180, I can definitely say they are amazing and definitely better than the beats studio overall. Not to mention when I'm comparing a audiophile entry level to a luxury prices ear phone (beats: not quality) The only down side to better quality is that they're not closed ear phones, meaning I can't really carry them out without others hearing wtf I'm listening to... the beats are closed but then they have a certain amount of leakage if ur volume is above certain level for certain music.
In the end, I would say buy beats studio if you can find them at $200, I definitely don't think they're even worth $250... but if ur baller n all, I'll say get the PRO, I actually think those are damn good. If your lucky look for the discounted boxing day deal on the Turbines which were like $300 off... those are solid too!
