I have a pair of the Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10s. If you want really good quality headphones I highly recommend these. I have tried out close to 15 pairs of headphones and I honestly think these are as good as they come. I was able to jump in on Amazons black Friday deal for $95

Just dont understand it...

I watched Kobe Bryant warming up with a pair of these on and dont get it. Why would anyone spend $200-$300 on a pair of headphones when several companies make headphones that are as good or better that are wireless, have noise cancelling technology and double as a phone headset. Nokia is one such company that has two models. One of which can be had for less than $100. And now Ludacris has a pair of headphones out...

Suggestion for alternative to Beats for iPhone use?

Looking for something like the Beats Solo HD for use with the iPhone for telephone calls as well. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Chip

Seconded. Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10s are fantastic in-ear phones at that price. I got a $100 pair in an Amazon gold box deal as well. Simply put, I don't ever want to go back to lesser headphones after using them - I bought 2 more pairs last time Amazon discounted them just in case they break (while they have held up well, I had a pair of Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pros that broke due to negligent behavior on my part, and I want to be covered). Even though they will probably run closer to $200 on the second-hand market, they're well worth that.

I have Solo HD Beats by Dr Dre, Studio Beats by Dr Dre, , P5 Bowers and Wilkins, and Bose Quiet Comfort 15. I also have Apple In ear earphones, Vmoda remix, Bose IE2, and Tours Beats by Dr Dre. I will provide pictures if people deem I am a troll. No, these are not fakes, I bought EVERY single one of these at the Apple store.

To be honest, the Studios are OK, but not for the price. I would pay maximum $150 on those. The Solo HD's would be nice at maybe $50 cheaper. The tours (in ears) are my favourite earphones, as I listen to mostly pop,r&b, electro songs. I also own a pair of Apple In ear Earphones, and I can tell the difference. I would rather have the Tours.

The Bose quiet comfort 15's are excellent for travel. They noise cancel so well, its really scary. The sound quality is not so well..the Beats IN MY OPINION sound better. The bass on them is just horrible. If you take off the QC15's, you can hear how awful it is.

The BEST headphones in my opinion is the P5 Bowers & Wilkins. The quality is noticeably different then the Studios and QC15's, the bass is good when it needs to be, and quiet when it needs to be. They fit very comfortably, and I don't think they would break as easily.

If you want Beats for sure, go with the Solo HD Beats by Dr Dre GRAPHITE edition, as I have that one and it is truly an eye turner. People always ask me if I get them customized at colorware and I say no.

If you want in ear earphones, I would get some Vmoda remix. Excellent sound quality for the price. Decent bass too for any genre.

My thoughts

Hi,

I tried these and Monster Turbines.... Turbines are much better in my view. However, one thing is that at low volumes these headphones cn't show the magic, you have to crank up the volume to get the quality and effects.

Thanks

I was looking for some good closed cans this year (I'm a law student and am moderately terrified of having my headphones disturb others in the law library so I was looking for a non-open design that keeps all sound in the around the ear design) and wound up with Audio-Technica ATH-M50's and couldn't be happier. Just under $100 without an incredibly overly bassy sound with good mids to high. Great pair if you want closed cans for relatively cheap.

Head Direct RE0.

These are the best IEMs under $80 by far. Arguably, they are the best under $200.

No offense to the recording industry guy, but the beats suck for the price.

I would much rather have the Bose if I was spending that much on headphones.

Bose sucks according to most audio enthusiasts. I don't know, and don't care though. But if you check out audio forums, they all say Bose is nothing but great marketing and that their actual products suck. They buy audio products from sennheiser, AKG, and those kinda audio companies.
