Lenovo: mobile workstation, yes. Hello Kitty, no.

Apple: mobile workstation, no. Hello Kitty, yes.

Do I hear someone saying Apple makes toys?

WTF with this hipster crap? Seriously, Tim Cook must have lost his mind to think Beats is good, they have the worse designs ever and Rap music is dead.

Apple lets get to what you were known for: INNOVATION, not Hipster.

1) Hipster does not mean "things I don't like."

2) Hello Kitty is not "hipster"

3) Beats is not "hipster"

I finally had a good listen to the Solo2 headphones in the Apple store recently and I really was genuinely disappointed with the sound quality. I'm speaking as a non-audiophile who thinks the newer EarPods sound fine for portable use, and I use koss and sennheiser headphones at home.

I was disappointed because I really wanted to give them a chance, because I would absolutely, as a straight male: unabashedly, and entirely not-sarcastically want either some Pink Solo2s or these Hello Kitty phones.

It's actually annoying that the poor sound quality pretty much entirely holds these headphones back for me.

Most are girls ages 6 to 14 and all over the world. Will remember this my next trip to SanrioWorld.

Yep. Made the mistake of showing them to my 14 year old daughter. She has already added them to her X-mas list.

And it doesn't stop at 14. My niece in college loves HK as well.

I refer you to post #28.

Ok, just because the airplane has had that decal for 8 years doesn't mean it isn't 8 years of fail... btw I would guess that backpack doesn't cost around 150$ and 250$. Cheap Hello Kitty products are in no short supply. Beats headphones marked up $50 for that, is fail. I'm sure they'll sell well, I think the joke is on the people who buy them. (that goes for regular Beats too)

The BFF. MSRP: $170.

My wife has a couple of bags from ju-ju-be (not in Hello Kitty Print). I have the Be Right Back in the Stargyle print:

I use it as my laptop bag, as it is lighter and sturdier than anything Swiss or Dell have out.

But the HK bags... they are sold out with a 3 month backlog for orders. They are extremely popular, and it isn't as if Dre isn't a father, has a daughter or nice who just may like HK, or decided to tone things down because he's getting older. Ice Cube did the same thing after putting out movies in the Friday franchise. They can't stay stone cold gangsta their whole life.

and EVA Air has had that livery not only because it is huge in Japan, but pretty much all of Asia and Europe.

enlighten yourself: 6 unbelievable things found on EVA Air's Hello Kitty Flights.

Those flights sell out. And yet Apple and Beats are a big fail for getting in on that cash cow.

I never said it wasn't profitable, I just think it's stupid when they clearly have room for improvement in their actual products, mini 3, Mac mini... there's less innovation and more profit seeking at its expense.

While Apple owns Beats, it still operates as a separate division. Except where the lines cross (like the Beats music service in iOS), what Apple spends in time and money on Beats has nothing to do with Apple's computer and devices line.

I use the included Apple EarPods because I don't pretend I'm an audiophile like many others and can tell the difference. Because I and many, many others can't.

To be honest I do know what hipster means and I know how many hipsters feelings I have been hurting because I do not approve this trend.

I think that this conversation over what is and isn't hipster is likely not going to diverge from the four-trillion other internet arguments on that topic by actually leading anywhere useful, persuasive to the opposing side, or certainly not final or definitive.

But with that being said -- Dude, as far as large brands go, Apple is absolutely more hipster than Hello Kitty or Beats.

:p

Actually you don't, unless you can show me a picture of anyone being forced to buy this.

Glassed Silver:mac

I didn't say anyone was forced to buy this, I was simply referring to now MacRumors has Hello Kitty headphone articles now. Again, not forced to read it either, it's just annoying that it's now something we have to hear about, even in passing. Because Apple is essentially making Hello Kitty stuff. Then I hear about it at the office. DAMMIT.
