If one is wondering whether or not the headphones can stand up, you probably should pass.
They aren't indestructible. They aren't made to be indestructible. They are headphones designed for people that are going to take care of them, not your average 10 year-old. Monster does make a pair of earphones that are indestructible, or at least they claim to be... the Monster Turbines. I don't think I would give IEMs to a 10 year-old, as that seems like it could have long-term health impacts.
