Seriously... If apple turns this into a beats by apple **** or something and put that stupid b all over my macs and phones, I'm out. I shall then praise the google overlords :/

Beats took off when they spammed them all over to every rapper, athlete, and minor celebrity in the world with freebie units. Not due to superior hardware or superior business acumen on the part of dre or jimmy iovine. This purchase makes zero sense to me. There must be something that us civilians aren't privy to.

They want Beats Music. It got around 750.000 users within the first month of it being in use, and has excellent music rights.

Source on the numbers? As far as I know, Beats doesn't release details on that and all numbers are guesses. Based on the revenue, it is likely far less than 750,000. and that's after 100 days passed, not within first 30 days.

Remember trial users != paid users, they have a low # of users paying after the trial expires.

You do know that the music rights are not transferrable, right? Unless you're talking about Beats Radio, which Apple most likely already have.

Tim Cook is polishing his violin, and has pre-ordered a case of champagne for your departure.

Am I the only one looking at these optimistically and thinking maybe Macs will finally have decent speakers? Apple isn't one to put other logos on products so maybe we will only see benefits from this. (I realize they're more focused on audio streaming)

Our next door neighbour told me how she bought her 15 year old son a set of these red crap 'phones for ~£100... I nearly passed out in utter dismay.

Oh please, then you know nothing about Apple as a company. Have you ever seen the "Intel Inside" moniker on any Mac? Of course you haven't. Don't be so over dramatic.

See, that's the issue with Beats audio. It's not decent. It's quite horrible actually, especially for how much it costs.

Yeah, I had a pair of solo "hd" headphones and they had way too much bass. Their music service on the other hand is decent. I signed up for a free trial today and it's pretty good so far.

Teens love Beats headphones. My daughter is the same way. She doesn't care about my boring sennheiser's. The article mentioned attracting younger consumers and connections in the music industry. Well a lot of younger consumers like Beats.

Is this Photoshopped, or is this nightmarish photo REAL? Looks like Tim & Co bought all that Sapphire for his dental adornments... :-/

And when did the change to x86 happen? Under Jobs. We don't know if cook is capable of doing this, and if it's a forced app on my phone I'll be pissed.
If they're doing this to just absorb their assets, keep beats by dr dre going on its own path then fine, whatever no harm done. If they force the beats name onto everyone, I will buy an android to replace my 5.

So is dre gonna do a detox deal with apple like jayz did with samsung and get the album for free for iphone users?

It matters not; the difference between Tim Cook and people discussing this on forums is that Tim Cook is actually thinking

Oh Tim Cook is thinking alright, the results of his thoughts however are nothing to be envious of, I bet google just loves watching him drive apple down the highway to hell. Goodbye Apple. :apple:

Intelligent thinking; what I've come to expect from macrumors.
