Although chances are she will make yet another billion (she probably got paid handsomely already just for putting her face on these) I hope they don’t sell and flunk.

That’s about sums it up. My issue with her was never about her sex tape or her getting rich and famous from such a thing while people with occupations and pursuits truly useful to humanity struggle. No, not that. She’s certainly not the only person to profit hugely from very little.
What finally pushed me over the edge with her is seeing her time after time appropriate everything special and sacred to people and exploit it for her brand. She appropriates races (pretty much all of them so far), cultures, and even Marilyn freaking Monroe’s legacy wasn’t safe from her grasping mitts. She is adept at playing victim/misunderstood when someone calls her out on all of this or she just shrugs “whatever” and moves on like a swarm of locusts to exploit the next thing.
I like these colors well enough but they’re just colors. I can’t understand why Apple has to be part of a deal enriching her to release these colors. Do they not have people on their payroll who can produce a special edition color pallet? Apple and Beats has a name and an identity and a brand. It’s one thing I guess for Beats because Beats was a celebrity brand from the beginning. I can understand special product releases from Beats like that Will.I.Am headphone monstrosity.
But earth toned products? If I want an earth toned ear buds I now have to be a part of enriching KK?
For crying out loud in the other news item they’re disciplining an employee for vaguely indirectly associating Apple on her Tik Tok videos meant to help people understand their tech better. Got to protect their image, right?
Maybe that engineer should protest being indirectly associated with Kim K.

This is the new apple and it makes me feel really sad. Tim has turned this once caring company into one that cares only about money. How could he allow Apple to be associated with this disgusting family brand (sic). And more importantly…why? This clan of blood suckers should not be representing Apple. right now I wish there was a viable alternative to the platform. But……….
Yes, their target demographic is the “Idiocracy“ segment of the population, which is growing at an exponential rate. It’s obvious why they’d target this group, the product has electrolytes.
No, I am not saying that no one in MR likes her... But the majority of the comments are negative, right? If you saw the same article posted on a makeup forum, fashion forum, etc, you'd see a ton of love for these. I just don't think techie people are the target audience for Kim K's branding.
And yeah, your last sentence is exactly what I said - these will be successful despite the disinterest I would expect from Apple news site readers/commenters. No hate. Envy maybe... but no hate.
Maybe some PR persons at Apple read MacRumors comments and get a sense for just how stupid many of its most committed users think the company is with its marketing and promotion. Or maybe not. Bottom line, I buy Apple products in spite of its many times awful marketing and promotion, not because of it.

If Apple and Beats really wants to be true to the Kardashian brand, they should sell them as used.
In the 90’s? MLK died in 1968 and Chavez in 1993 but was off the stage by then. Jim Henson was hardly the leader of an ideological movement. Nor was Bono but, sure, they both contributed in mostly positive ways.
Kardashian is in a class of her own that is, ironically, mostly classless and tasteless. The woman is a narcissistic slow motion train wreck who’s main contributions to society have been enriching herself while parading in front of mirrors taking selfies and making a generation of women believe that being narcissistic is a virtue rather than a vice. She did start something though few in the future will ctually believe that any of it was positive, except maybe her kids that will expect to inherit whatever isn’t confiscated in death duties.
