Beats today announced an expansion of its cable lineup that first debuted a year ago, introducing a longer 10-foot (3-meter) option for its USB-C to USB-C cables. The new 10-foot cable is available in all four of the existing Beats cable colors: Bolt Black, Surge Stone, Nitro Navy, and Rapid Red.

Built for enhanced durability, the Beats charging cables are designed with a tangle-free woven design and reinforced internally to help prevent fraying. Optimized for ultra-fast charging up to 240 watts this 3m cable enhances speed and efficiency, elevating your charging experience.

To ensure quality and performance, the charging cables undergo thousands of hours of testing throughout the design and manufacturing process. Compatible with all USB-C Apple and Android devices, Beats Cables support charging, syncing, audio, CarPlay, and transferring data.
The new cables are available starting today at apple.com and are priced at $29.99.

Alongside the new longer options, Beats continues to offer USB-C to USB-C, USB-A to USB-C, and USB-C to Lightning cables in 5-foot (1.5-meter) and 20-centimeter lengths, with both priced at $18.99.

I've always had so many cables and chargers about I thought towards the end of last year "right I've heard Anker are meant to be good" so went on a massive cable and charger spending spree on Amazon and thought I would be set

Already a couple of the chargers and cables have just completely...died! Annoyingly typically one of the failures being the 10 foot lead I used to charge my MBA so I had plenty of length to move it about whilst it was charging

So now I'll probably have to look out for another brand as it isn't a great first impression

Apple would brand the air, if they could... Oh wait - iPad Air, Macbook Air, iPhone Air... CRAP!

Seriously though - why is this a good thing - a branded Beats USB-C cable that is 10 foot for $30... pretty sure I can use the Amazon one for a lot cheaper.

3m USB-C cables changed my life!

Well, okay, they added noticable convenience to my life! I highly recommend them. 😉

I have one in every travel bag, so I can deal with whatever crazy outlet situation the hotel has. And I have them near all couches, so power is available in every place without readjustments. But of course mine were cheap, so I can get as many as I want.

Oh, and I actually recommend 60W cables. The 100W cables are already stiff und no fun to roll up. No idea what the 240W ones are like, but they probably aren't better.

240W is even thicker and harder to roll. I just make a big loop since the compartment I keep it in is large enough.

My 20Gbps/240w braided 10-footer was $15 on Amazon. Apple tax is insane.

IMO there's no reason to buy USB-C cables with USB 2.0 speeds - that they even exist in the first place is a nuisance.
It is being marketed as a high end charging cable with a voltage regulator, data sync is a secondary feature.

Every single one of my Anker chargers went bad like half a year or so.
They would replace it under warranty but even the replacement fails within the same time frame.
The USB A port needs to be kick-started with my Nintendo Switch controller in order to charge anything else.

My Wife would still find a way to bend the end of the connector and have bare wires exposed within 6 months while all the while insisting that she doesn't treat her cables like crap.
This is such a common thing; it feels like everyone who shreds charging cables claims to treat them carefully despite it being obvious they don't.

"I swear I've been gentle on my cables!" as they show me a charging cable barely holding on by the internal conductors, half of the jacket gone.

Meanwhile my identical cable from around the same time is nearly perfect and only a little dirty.

To be fair, Apple’s Lightning cables were designed to fail.

Every single one I own has the outer sheathing broken / frayed at the phone plug-in connector.

At the same time I still have a bunch of micro-USB cables from my Android devices that are 11 to 16 years old, were very heavily used for years even after I no longer owned the phones, and still look brand new.

Actually I am pretty sure that the cable I now use to charge my Sony camera battery while traveling is from my S5, which makes it 12 years old.

All my lighting cables look great. In fact all my cables look and work great, but that’s because I treat them carefully.

I see people roughly winding cables in tight loops, or even worse, winding a charging cable around the charging brick or device, and die a little inside. People are so careless and rough with their things.

Well, if any of my other cables were failing, I’d say it was on me.

However since I haven’t had any other cables physically fail in the last 15 years, including 3rd party Lightning cables from Amazon, yet all of my Apple Lightning cables are frayed / broken, I stand by my assertion… they were designed to fail with regular use, although some people who treat their cables with extra care may have them last longer.

To celebrate Earth Day, Apple and Beats brings you a 10 foot USB-C cable at double the price because ya know there are not enough on Amazon or elsewhere as it is. 😝
