Things I would like to see:

  • Better charging setup. I went through multiple pairs of PB Pro because they wouldn't charge, or died.
  • ANC. The Beats Fit Pro has it, why not this?
  • USB-C charging (duh)
I switched to the Beats Fit Pro and they work pretty well for me in the gym. I don't think we'll ever see a Beats earbud with ALL the features of the AirPods Pro, but I might rock it if it did.

It's about bloody time they came out with a 2nd generation of the Powerbeats Pro as it's been around 5yrs since they came out!

I like them because of the ear hook so that they never budge, great battery life and actual physical buttons. Biggest improvements I would like to see is a better charging case (with USB-C) because if your not careful enough putting them in the case only one earbud may be charged, and over two different pairs I've had one earbud can die about 10% faster than the other. Rarely happens but one earbud may cut out momentarily and once it resyncs it not quite right resulting in a mono type of sound, quickly disconnecting and reconnecting fixes that.

I could see these making a lot of sense for running. AirPods Pro work great for me until I start sweating, at which point they start creeping out of my ears. I bought little silicone add-on hooks to wedge them into my ears, but it's a clunky add-on and I have to remove them each time to get the AirPods back into the charging case.

If these work well with my Apple Watch, I'd totally consider as a supplemental exercise earbud.

Beyond excited. While I'd love to live in a AirPods Pro world (other than the white color), alas, they don't stay in my ears. Beats Fit Pro were the first Apple ear products like that, that actually stayed in my ear...briefly. But after a few days of using a lot, the rubber slightly bends and then they no longer stay. Even tried getting another pair and the same happened. Perhaps a future version that are more solid might stay but doubtful. I even tried getting custom ear molds to put on AirPods and while it did work, was such a hassle to take on and off to charge, etc, that wasn't worth it. So I have always gone back to Powerbeats Pro which due to their design of course, never fall off. And for so many of us they are the only option, so have desperately been hoping every year to a version 2, which for one will be usb-c so finally won't need a lighting cable anymore. But also often you put them in the case and hours later to realize they never charged because depending on how they are bent the metal doesn't always make a connection and thus doesn't charge. And they don't have all the latest tech AirPods Pro and other modern Apple/Beats products have.

Teasing headphones that aren't coming until next year is a strange move but I'm thankful none the less. Presumably coming in March.

Hope they fixed the issues where they wouldn't always charge in the case. Loved them for working out just hated the design for the charging points and sometimes taking them out to one being dead.

Please update Beats Fit Pro while you're at it! Mine have been great, but the ear hooks finally began to separate and break after almost two years. I'd love an updated version with H2 chip and conversation awareness etc.

About time!

I love my PBP over my APP2.

If they improve the charging, add ANC and transparency mode I’ll be buying one day 1.

A nice to have would be a slimmer case.

And
  • A not so bulky, slippery case
  • Wireless charging case.

I freaking LOVE my Powerbeats Pro and wear them constantly. They never pop out of my ears just like all other airpods model. The only things I would change is get them some damn noise cancellation and make a new case that doesn't want to slip right out of your hands the moment you pick it up.
... and contactless charging. I've been enjoying mine for I think 4 years now through all kinds of exercises, and the peace of mind that it's virtually impossible for them to fall and I can "forget about them" after I put them on is irreplaceable. After years of sweat + cleaning cycles, I'd say their weak spot is the charging connectors. I had to resort to a soldering gun recently to bring life back to one of the (I guess oxidized) contacts. I'd buy instantly if they get rid of contacts.

Fantastic. Perfect timing. I just lost one of my original Power Beat Pros. Loved them. They’re the only wireless in ear headphones that actually stay in my ears. I prefer the around the ear design because I’m very active. But also, I have freak ears that other ear buds just pop out of.

Used these for years but replaced them with the Beats Fit Pro and find them better in just about every way for my needs—ANC, much smaller (both earbuds and the case), USB-C charging.

I can appreciate the physical volume rockers but will gladly take the smaller form factor and ANC instead as I can quickly adjust volume with my watch. Battery life isn’t 9 hours but 6 hrs is still great. And those little wingtips lock them in very securely (at least for my ears).

Been waiting a long time for these. Have used PBPs almost daily since 2019 launch.

However this preview video has me a little concerned as they don’t appear to have physical buttons (volume rocker and button on the earbud itself). Hope I’m wrong.
Sim to @blairh 1st pair since launch, we used to call ’em BeatsPro then bought an OD colored backup pair on sale & use ‘em 3 days a week for road cycling since 40+ yrs of running was enough.

It’s odd that Beats didn’t plan this refresh to launch in time for Xmas ‘24. I hope to see these sooner than later but now I’m wondering when in ‘25 we’ll see them.
As others have noted, and I’m talking to you Beats/Apple, fix the confounded charging case! Near perfect workout earbuds but for that cursed thing.

I was hoping for better battery life on the Fit Pros (4-5hrs won't last a longer hike or bike ride). Case is HUGE on the powerbeats so I hope they can slim that down. Chuck in ANC and I'm in.

Yuk! Looks like a hearing aid 🤦‍♂️
Hearing aids are smaller, but I dream of having ears that hold in AirPods/Pro. These just don’t fall out and provide a great experience… for those who can’t wear AirPods or for people who do rigorous activity.
Trash compared to AirPods Pro
…someone who has never worked out with them…

Been waiting a long time for these. Have used PBPs almost daily since 2019 launch.
That’s the other thing I want. Find My… for the PBP. I also had mine since launch, but I took them out and put them in my pocket on a walk and lost them, so I had to get replacements. I searched for over an hour but I fear someone grabbed them.

Dang they gotta tease these all the way out at least 4 months in advance? I liked PowerBeats Pro, I just hated the charging of it since it was hit or miss sometimes with the case. I use the Beat Fit Pro now which are my favorite out of all the ear buds out there. I would love to have these in 2025 though.

This announcement just stopped me from anteing up for a new pair of PBP. Adding to the chorus here: Yes, for ME, Powerbeats Pro are the absolute best. Yardwork, running, hiking. Other earbuds of all kinds slip out either very soon (AirPods) or slowly (Beats Fit Pro). I have had same PBP case since 2018 and replaced one of the earbuds as the battery just didn't' last in one of 'em. Was considering a new pair after six years, as the other side was giving out. Now, I will wait. Very kind of Apple to give us a heads up.
