For the love of god don't waste your money on beats.

Bose? Maybe. I'd look into a nice pair of Shure headphones/earbuds if I were you.

I love my Bose headphones and earphones. Especially the noise canceling that the headphones have.

Sound is subjective. Looking at reviews or opinions isn't a smart thing to do. Go to a store that has a few headphones out on display (Best Buy, for example) and try out some different headphones.

+1
Take a look at Ultrasone, Audio Technica's M50, Shure SRH750DJ, Beyerdynamics or Sennheiser.

Good advice there, can't go wrong with those.
Avoid "fashion" looking headphones in general (beats, skullcandy, etc), and most importantly, as mentioned in previous posts, TRY THEM and pick the ones that sound the best to you.

There was a guy that had the Beats by Dre and would wear them on the treadmill all of the time. All of a sudden he stopped wearing them. Apparently, he sweated too much and they stopped working. Not sure if this will happen to any brand of headphones that’s subjected to daily sweating but it’s surely an indication that they may not be worth the money involved.

Both are way overpriced for the quality you get. Look at something like Audio Technica M50s.

Nothing compares to Bose and that's not really an opinion it's science, but its all up to what the listener wants and likes

LOL. You obviously haven't heard quality audio then. I bet you also think the Bose sound display at Best Buy is the best sound ever.

Neither. Bose are better than Beats but both are very overpriced; it's all just branding. Beats are basically slightly better iPod headphones with the bass turned way up, and the bass isn't even quality, it's muddy and distorted. They are probably the equivalent of $50 headphones. I haven't used Bose before but apparently they're good, just overpriced.

I use Denon AH-D2000's which are cheaper than or equal to Beats and Bose headphones but are far superior. You can't go wrong with Sennheiser's or ATH-M50's either. And then if you match any of those headphones with a good amp, you have sound quality that blows your mind 2x.

I have the over the ears Bose 15 noise canceling headphones for at home or plane travel. I also have the Klipsch x10i in ears. I like them both. I'm by no means an audiophile but for me, I like the sound of the Bose better. I could care less about show or name brand. The Bose headphones just sound crisper and the sounds more distinct.

I bought beats last year around this time . I been pretty happy with them. I went around for a couple of weeks listening to different brands before I purchased. Beats were actually the best for me and the type of music I listen to. And they are Definatly not a style thing to me because I have yet to wear them out the house once .. Go out and try different brands is the best way to go

which is better? i was going to get the beats by dr dre red edition - the one that doesn't use batteries.....is that just as good as bose?

I personally think both are overpriced. I prefer Shure IEMs and Sennheiser headphones.
