hi, the reviews on apples website seem really bad. But is it just a few bad ones?

How have people got on with these?

Looking to buy and I think they’ve just come down in price too.

Thanks

I like mine. I’m not the most discerning listener, but they sound just like any other of my Bluetooth earbuds (and I have a few), and better than my cheapest. The reason I bought them was that ALL my other headsets would briefly lose their connections as I walked around the city. The BeatsX put an end to that.

I have a pair and really enjoyed them. It wasn’t until my wife gifted me a pair of AirPods that I stopped using the beats but now she uses them.

I didn’t care for the cords as I like the truly wireless feel of AirPods but if you can move past that minor annoyance they are great. ESP with an iPhone.

Also if you can get them on sale it really makes the purchase even sweeter.

I am stuck between the beatsx and AirPods. Do you ever feel like the air pods are going to fall out? I have to mow a little for work around some water towers and the only thing stopping me from getting AirPods is the fear of them falling out.

They fit me good but if I was doing work like that I’d get something with wires. The beats x might be perfect for you

I’m quite happy with my BeatsX, although I mostly use them for working out and use a pair of Solo 3s for everything else. The sound is fine and certainly as good as any ear buds I’ve ever had. I also like the easy pairing feature thanks to the W1 chip (same as AirPods) which makes switching between being connected to my iPhone and Apple Watch easy. I don’t own AirPods though as EarPods never fit my ears properly (yes I’m the minority group that Apple didn’t make EarPods/AirPods for apparently) and they constantly fell out so I suspected AirPods would be the same. I am somewhat interested in the Powerbeats Pro, but as the BeatsX are still working well I’ll at least wait for a sale until I seriously consider them.

Thanks, for all the replies. I’ll definitely consider these then. They’re only £89 now too. I had some airpods And although the fit was okay my left ear felt like it was always going to fall out. So want to try something different. Unfortunately for me the new beats pros, I can’t justify spending that much.

Didn't use mine for a while and now find they wont turn on.

I've had much better luck with Airpods.

I have had them for 1.5 years. Not loud enough for me but I like loud. The only thing I didn’t like is the cord behind my neck. Bothers to crap out of me. Other than that great! Never any connection issues

So what headphones are loud enough for you?

Let me give you an objective opinion and comparison between the two, since many of the reviews on the Apple site are simply negging the brand and nothing more. I'll keep this simple:

Airpods are great for convenience. They sound decent, better if they fit your ears well. I enjoy being able to keep one in at a time to listen to podcasts on long drives and the call quality is superb. That said, I am like many folks and the Airpods do not fit my ears well, consistently falling out and thus becoming a bit of an annoyance in certain scenarios (like while walking, jogging, etc.). I've used multiple accessories to try and improve the fit, to no avail.

BeatsX sound great for their price point. The cable can annoy some users, but does not faze me in the least. They do not get to the volume level and clarity I might be able to achieve on my Senns while running through my favorite amp, but that's also not what they're intended for. I use them for walking, for taking work calls when my ears start to fatigue from using my headset for long periods of time, and listening to specific music -- mostly hard rock, hip-hop, and anything where I'm okay with the exaggerated bass (and they are bass heavy). They sound better than the Airpods, but aren't as convenient.

If I had to buy a second pair of either, it would be the BeatsX, without question.

Thanks for that. I’m leaning to the beatsx the price point is close enough to not care. I just feel like if I get the beatsx I’ll regret not getting airpods. Do the air pods fit the same as the earbuds from Apple?

The Beats X are awesome for a number of reasons, firstly they have very good battery life, I get over 8 hours each day from them at work. They have a very balanced sound with a slight emphasis on bass but not overpowering in any way, they are not on the same level as good wired headphones but they are a solid compromise. They also have some sound isolation. They have the W1 chip for ease of use with Apple products. They can get 2 hours use in just a 5 min charge and they charge to 100 percent very quickly.

Yes. The Apple earbuds also fall out of my ears quite easily. The fit feels exactly the same.

Only thing for me, over the ear. But I won’t wear those so I just deal.

On the newer side. Mine now only get 3.5 hours now off a full charge. 1.5 years old

Mine are a year old and still have 8 hours battery life and I use them 5 days a week heavily.

I’d argue beatsx are *more* convenient than airpods because where do you put your second airpod when you just want to use the phone or listen to a podcast with one ear while youre walking so you can be aware of your surroundings, or want to only take them off for a minute. Beatsx have a built-in necklace function that just lets the buds hang around your neck, vs airpods where you have to find the charging case (hopefully) in your pocket, put one in there, then find it again to out it back. And having them not tethered to each other seems way more risky to lose one.

That's definitely not the norm. I have two pairs around 2 years old, and both still hold a full charge. You might want to send them in for repair if that's the case, since one of the biggest benefits is that battery life.

I bet the fast charging is what killed mine. 63w PD USBC car charger.

But also, they make sure it works best for just a year so once it’s out of warranty they don’t give a crap..lol

The warranty is over. I’m not going to pay for it when i already order my PB Pro. Plus I use a 63W USBC PD car charger so I’m sure it just heated up that little battery and destroyed it...

Very likely the case, and if you've got a pair of PBPs on order definitely not worth the price to fix. I hoard my headsets, so I'll still keep my BeatsX close to hand even with my PBPs.

I mainly charge them on my iMac at work, will see how they fair in the coming months but so far the battery life is amazing.

BeatsX don't support fast charging. My set is just a few days short of 2 years old and battery life seems to be down to about 4 hours or less, and these get used basically every weekday.

Ya I am going to probably not use my fast charger on these. Might be a smart thing to do..lol

No but it’s all I have in my car for my phone and that’s where they stay. I better get new one before PB pro comes in. Well dang, ur’s sound like mine. You charge yours with a 5 watt brick?

I charge mine with whichever charger I have handy when they need charging, but it's pretty much never a 5W. They won't draw additional power even if it's available, however.
