I have had two pairs of BeatsX. The first pair refused to turn on after 9 months, kept getting flashing lights, then nothing. Apple sent them for repair and they couldn't be repaired, so they were replaced. The replacement pair did the exact same thing after 10 months. Now out of warranty, Apple have said they would repair them for £80. Told them to forget it. It's a shame because I really liked them. I have a pair of AirPods now but I don't like them all that much as they let in far too much background noise and I find them uncomfortable to wear after a while. But, after my experience, I wouldn't buy a pair of BeatsX again.

What AirPods do you have the older one or the newest?

Well went to Walmart just now and bought a pair of AirPods and the 2 year warranty. Also ordered a catalyst case on amazon. I work in utilities in water so decided to get the case just to be safe.

I loved mine when I had them but the problem is the durability. I have been through two pairs. I bought them from JL so I had the extra cover when they broke the first time it was because the power light had completely gone so I never knew when they were on off and then I got a replacement by them and a few months later the right ear bud stopped working then later that day it stopped charging and altogether stopped working. I couldn’t turn them back on again. So safe to say I’m giving up on them. They are cheaper now which is good but I need to see what the AirPods hype is about!

My take on being a BeatsX user for two years:

Battery life: very good at first, good even after two years
Sound: so so, but sufficient for daily commute use and for phone calls
Connection: rock solid
Price: very good
Build quality: ok, match the price point
Durability: Bad. First pair didn't turn on just after two months, second pair lasted until now, but the indicator lights are already burnt out and no longer works, with occasional detaching of the Beats logo part out of the earbuds.

Conclusion: one of the best of its kind at the current price range, with okay sound quality, good connection but not very durable.
