BeatsX Earphones will launch this Friday, February 10, with Beats By Dre announcing the official date this morning on Twitter. Yesterday, rumors of an imminent launch of BeatsX began circulating following increased activity on Apple's and Best Buy's online listings for the earphones.

In December, Apple updated its BeatsX listing with a vague February launch window, but up until today we had yet to receive a more solid day on which the earphones would launch. In addition to the confirmed launch date, CNET has also reported that two additional colors of BeatsX are coming after launch: gray and blue. When they debut, users will be able to choose from white or black.

Yesterday, February 10 was a date pinned by French reseller Fnac, while other resellers -- like Fry's Electronics -- looked towards a launch later in the month, on February 20. BeatsX include Apple's custom W1 chip for fast device connecting via Bluetooth, enabling users to pair them by simply powering them on and holding them near an iPhone. The major difference with Apple's AirPods is the flex-form cable that connects each BeatsX bud to one another.

watch them after 5 months of me waiting they don't fit my ears
I've had a lot of problems with earphones that aren't EarPods

I prefer this style of design to the AirPods (with the loop that can go behind your neck) but assumed the less elegant / more practical design would be a fair bit cheaper than the AirPods. Guess I was wrong there.

The W1 chip allows for tapping the ears for Siri, right? Or is that just for AirPods?

Probably still better availability than Jaybird X2's or X3's in The Netherlands, kind of ridiculous. And the BeatsX have the W1-chip, which is cool. Excited to try them.

There also is more than these 4 colors, Beats had on their Facebook images of them in the gray/vibrant color combo, I think they call them sport colors

I would have gone for these if they beat AirPods to market...but having used AirPods, there are features of those I simply couldn't give up for a different pair of headphones.

GOT DAMN IT APPLE. So on the 10th only black and white, but gray and blue later? I WANT DAT GRAY BRO

Apple doesn't have any sophistication with audio. Never has done. That's why they are Beats branded, which ironically are not exactly well known for their quality.
They should call them 'Apple Beats.'

They get a good review in a magazine or online website then Market with the slogan, 'Apple Beats Sennhesier,' 'Apple Beats Bose,' 'Apple beats the competition.'
(Copyrighted 2017 - Just in case Apple use this! hehe)

So much potential with a name change! :)

Still not sure which color I like best. Blue is deff out for me, but the rest look good to me.

To me, black earbuds look cheap, but the white ones look too showy, so I think I'm going to go with boring old gray.

The BeatsX have a proper remote with buttons, which will in all likelihood work much better than the unreliable tapping of the Airpods (and of course also provide more functionality such as volume adjustment and skipping songs).
..and work without needing a data connection, unlike the Airpods where the Siri commands still require a data connection to change volume, skip tracks.

This are a brand new product. Worked on by Apple Engineers AND the Dre team, so past "knowns" do not apple hear.

I held off buying the AirPods because I new this would be the better product. AirPods have their place but it's not me. I don't like them from a physical point and if I can't get past the physical for something so personal I can't like them.
